The WhiBal White Balance G7 Pocket Kit comes with a white balance card that is small enough to fit in a wallet or shirt pocket. It also comes with a lanyard (cord) for wearing around the neck. This way you can be sure you'll always have it with you when you need it as opposed to leaving it somewhere in a drawer. Because color temperature varies under different lighting sources (i.e. sunlight, fluorescent, halogen, incandescent) it's important to use a white balance card for accurate color representation under any type of light.
WhiBal white balance cards are designed to be neutrally gray throughout their surface, are water and scratch proof, and are individually tested by an industrial spectrophotometer before they leave the factory. For it to work properly the card must be held at an angle where there's no reflection bouncing off of it. For this reason the card, which in itself is very low reflective, features a highly reflective sticker that shows the photographer at a glance whether the card is held properly.
To achieve maximum results it's best to shoot in RAW and then use a RAW conversion program such as Adobe Camera Raw or Lightroom to adjust the picture. With a RAW conversion software you can also white balance at once a group of pictures taken under the same lighting conditions. Included in the kit are a stand and a hanger for placing the card upright on a wall or horizontal surface. Also included is a Tyvek sleeve for protecting the card in between uses.

Sturdy and Useful
I use the white balance card on my digital SLR camera -- love how it has both white and gray areas and the black & white square so I can easily focus.

I wouldn't mind if it were just a wee bit bigger, but it does currently fit easily into a shirt pocket or wallet.

This is my third Whibal pocket kit. I purchased the White Balance G7 Pocket Kit because I lost the the second "table stand" card from my White Balance G6 Pocket Kit during a wildlife photography hike. One of the downsides of the G5 and G6 was that it was easy to lose parts (e.g. the second card does not securely attach to the neck strap).
I was very disappointed with the G7 kit, as it appears to be much more cheaply made compared to the G6 (but the price was about the same). The G6 card is more than twice as thick as the G7, and feels like it is built to last, while the G7 feels like it could easily be damaged.
When I saw how the G7 kit uses an s-hook as the table stand, I drilled a couple holes in my G6 card so that I could use an s-hook that I happened to already have as its table stand. The one advantage to the G7 (and my jury-rigged G6) is that the s-hook can be securely attached to the neck strap, so it won't fall on the ground unnoticed while I hike. I've stored the G7 away in case my G6 wears out (fat chance).

The lanyard makes it easy to carry around. The size makes it easy to use. Very effective white balance. Its reliability already saved me several hours I'd have spent in front of my computer fixing colours on my pictures.

This card allows you to obtain perfectly accurate and consistent white balance on any shoot, anywhere. It is so small you can take it anywhere but not too small so that it is hard to use in a wide shot. it is also very sturdy and rigid.
Excellent product!

Just what I needed to help me get the right color in my photographs, particularly my wildflower and fungi shots when taken under difficult lighting conditions. I do lots of walking when hunting down wildflowers and fungi and it's great that WhiBal is always handy hanging from its lanyard or in my jacket pocket. It's well made, and should last pretty well forever.

Been looking for just such a product. Great size, great construction. Might be a bit small for landscapes where the you might need the larger version.

Very useful with RAW especially with difficult lighting and low contrast backgrounds. The size of the cards is not important because of photoshop's capabilities. I have used it with snow backgrounds and in the gym shooting Bball. I look forward to spring and summer outdoor shoots.

WhiBal is a great product and I would recommend it to anyone that needs the perfect color in their images. Keep in mind if you are shooting in JPEG to turn off auto white balance as it will keep adjusting which will cause each of the images white balance to be different.

This is by far the best white balance correction card I have purchased. It performed as advertised and really cut down on post processing time.So far, I haven't found anything wrong with it. I presented it to our photo club members and showed them how it worked. Hats off to B&H for stocking a quality product.[@]

I adjusted several photos using white/gray spots in a photo and then adjusted visually on the fly to what I thought "looked right". And then I came across the Whibal photo I forgot I took and applied the neutral white balance from the card. Wow, was I wrong. I guess I don't have got color-corrected eyes like I thought :)
