These are the best headphones for super flat audio.
Someone posted a review commenting on the leakage. There will be leakage, a lot actually. These are semi-open headphones and are designed that way on purpose. If your looking for isolation when listening then you need to get closed headphones.
These are meant for listening in very quiet conditions, and when it is, they are great!

Great set of headphones for the price. Crisp, clear and the most natural sounding reproduced audio. Comfortable to wear for a long period of time and seal well around my ears. Really happy with my purchase.
These have been a studio work horse for years and they are still the best bet for the price IMO.

Comments about AKG K 240 Studio Professional Semi-Open Stereo Headphones:
Unlike many consumer grade headphones, these do not overemphasize the base. Instead they deliver a wonderfully flat response curve that lets you hear the music as it was recorded. I understand now why the K240 is often consider to be a standard in many recording studios. As impressive as the sound was, it may surpassed by the comfort of these headphones. I could wear these 12 hours a day and not fatigue. These are also a great value as they are half the price of the newer "K240 Mk II". My only disappointment is that Harmon has shifted manufacturing out of Austria, and they are now made in China.

Comments about AKG K 240 Studio Professional Semi-Open Stereo Headphones:
These are incredibly comfortable, and seem like they would last ok - even with the new, quite flimsy Chinese construction.
The drivers are the only real standout feature, though. They're balanced quite well, easily pumping out clear lows, controlled mid, and crisp highs.
However, where they fall incredibly short is leakage. My primary use of these was monitoring during voiceover work and radio interviews. Even with the modest volume in my phones - and using a dynamic microphone - every word that played in my cans was heard perfectly by the mic. For me, these area no-go.

I bought a pair of K240 MkII two years ago in January 2009, which I love, and they say "Made in Austria" on the left earcup. Two years later, these K240s are made in China. Disappointing, and I probably won't buy AKG headphones anymore.

Comments about AKG K 240 Studio Professional Semi-Open Stereo Headphones:
I've been using AKG's for years and every time I try another brand I always come back to AKG. The K240 ones are good, comfortable and easy to use. Only thing missing is the coiled cable which I think is more comfortable than the regular one. So I spent $ 29.95 more to order the coiled cable. I believe the AKG K240 MKII are good but also more expensive.
