Quantum continues to push the envelope with the Quantum Turbo Blade Battery Pack, jamming a huge amount of flash power into a wafer-thin battery which is 40% smaller than its Turbo Compact.
Weighing in at under 15 oz and measuring just 1.44" in height it's ideal for grab-and-go photography. Not only does it go anywhere but it fits anywhere as well. The 1/4"-20 top tripod screw nestles neatly into your SLR, adding just enough weight for stability. Slip a flash into the hot shoe and you'll truly experience the balance of power in a sleek form factor. For additional support Quantum has added a 1/4"-20 tap on the bottom of the unit for tripod, monopod or light stand mounting.
Although these attributes are reason enough to purchase the Blade it's really all about the power, isn't it? Quantum comes through with up to 2850 flashes at 1/8 power for shoe mounted flashes. That translates as fill-flash heaven.
The Blade includes features that we've come to expect from Quantum over the years like a "gas gauge" type power indicator and sleek rugged exterior. With the introduction of the Blade power just got smaller, faster and lighter.

Another Quality Quantum Product
Excellent battery.
Only shortcoming I find is the terminal caps fit loosly instead of the nice snug fit as found on the 2+2.

I'm happy with it, holds a charge. Easy to take on and off, much better than hanging on your belt-not restrictive. Recycle time is ok, but not exceptional.

Comments about Quantum Instruments Turbo Blade Battery Pack:
I use this product primarily for wedding photography and it was purchased as an addition to two previous model Turbo Compact units. It does a great job with recycle time and keeping me shooting in fast paced environments. It's convenient to mount to the camera and does not add much weight.
It does have a much shorter duty cycle then the previous models. Literally half the life for basically the same price. This unit also will ONLY power the flash where the previous model powered both the flash and the camera if you needed it in a pinch.
It is a good product but Quantum certainly downgraded their product line and didn't downgrade their price. If this is your only solution you ABSOLUTELY need two of these to last a whole day regardless of what the Quantum spec says. I think the previous model will be in high demand on the used market.
Good product but could have been much better...shame on Quantum.

Comments about Quantum Instruments Turbo Blade Battery Pack:
Frankly, when I first saw this thing, I thought, [$] for such a cheap looking (like it was home made) thing... I had strange, bizarre feeling... so I plugged in, and went to my first mission with it, taking pictures from a Zumba show where quick flash is a must.I have to say, as bad as it looks as powerful beast it is! After the event I thought I can not live without it anymore. No flash light outage, period! My 580EX II was not even warm by the end of the session and I could fire with full power, no pause, I always had that little lightning arrow on, like I never shot with my flash. Amazing! For a wedding photographer, I recommend this as one of the must have tools...Now, my Canon 5D with my 24-70mm Zoom lens and the Quantum all together become real heavy, so I do not think I would not have that on all day.It charges real fast and I like the capacity LEDs that tell you how much charge you have left.It is a pricey thing, but so far I am satisfied with the result. I hope the battery's life is long enough so I can work with it for a couple of years.

I use the product for wedding photography.
It lasts about 7 hours with heavy shooting- so for big weddings you need two- which stinks b/c they are pricy.

I shoot events. It's smaller than the Turbo C, but burns up a lot faster. You'll need to buy several if you shoot a lot. And they're not cheap.

Works perfect, but there is one problem it doesn't stay in place under camera, it shifts all day long, since ther is only one screw that ataches to the camera thes is nothing to keep it in place, I'll deal with it! too pricey
