The GR-1222 N+ 3.5 Broadband Router and NES Server with BT from Sapido is a dynamic, feature-packed device that does a bit more than just function as a wireless router. For connecting to the Internet you have one Ethernet WAN port and two USB 2.0 ports. You can connect a cable or ADSL modem or your 3.5G or 3.75G USB broadband modem. In addition, the router can connect to other WiFi hotspots and connect your wireless devices to the Internet. Since this router is designed to 802.11n wireless specifications, you can connect a vast array of WiFi devices at a data transfer rate of up to 300 Mbps. It can also connect to wireless devices that are only compatible with 802.11b or 802.11g standards. Beyond these devices, the router's two built-in USB 2.0 ports allow you to connect USB printers, webcams, or external hard drives. With a total of four Ethernet LAN ports, you can also connect four wired devices.
Beyond just connecting your wireless or wired devices, the router supports a wide variety of more advanced features. You can use a USB 2.0-interfaced external hard drive with the router to setup an FTP or Samba server. The router also enables remote access so you can download or edit the files on your server while you're away. You can utilize the included BitTorrent function to download files without having to leave on your PC. In addition, the router can function as a Universal Plug-and-Play Audio Video Server so that you can access any media files kept on a USB 2.0 external hard drive and play them on a DLNA compliant device, such as a TV, audio player, or game system. For streaming audio, VoIP, games, or other content, the router allows you to prioritize your bandwidth via its Quality of Service function. That way, these applications receive the bandwidth they need to run smoothly. For security, you can either utilize the one-touch WPS encryption button or you can use the more advanced security options.
