Vello BG-C5 Battery Grip for Canon EOS T3i & T2i
The Vello BG-C5 Battery Grip for Canon T3i/T2i is a battery grip designed for use specifically with the Canon EOS T3i and T2i digital SLR cameras. It accepts up to 2 LP-E8 batteries to effectively double the camera's battery life. The included AA battery holder allows you to use 6 AA batteries for added convenience. The BG-C5 offers an alternate shutter release button, aperture/exposure compensation button, AF point selection/magnify button, AE lock/FE lock/Index/reduce button, and main dial to facilitate shooting in a vertical orientation.

I bought this as package Canon T3i / T2i Accessory Kit PEPAKT2i from BH that included a Vello Battery Grip a Pearstone B&H # PERCC1 Timelapse-Intervalometer w/Extra Battery and 1 Lens cord for attaching to the lenscap It was a great value.
The Vello Battery grip has very good quality and allows me to use 2 batteries perfect for video and long day shootings
It also allows you to use AA batteries in case your run out of juice or in an emergency
The look and feel is excellent,the same as the camera and makes vertical shooting very easy
This kind of equipment adds value to your camera in terms of usability and it looks and handles better than with the camera alone

The battery indicator on the camera does not change properly once the grip is inserted making you think you have more battery life than you really do. I don't know who's fault that is, Canon or Vello.
I used the AA battery adapter once and it worked. The second time I tried to use it it wouldn't work.
Other than those two things it's great. It fits snugly against my T3i and the LP-E8 battery holder fits snugly as well.

The build quality is much better than I expected, I like that grip material of the Vello brand opposed to Canon. I have a Authenic Canon battery grip for my 50d that the dial to take on a off broke. Figured I would try a 3rd party this time for the T3i and I am glad I made the purchase. Time tell if this grip hold up, but so far I love it.

Thought at first I wasn't going to like. But it didn't add any weight to my camera. Actually became easier to hold when I have a heavy lens. I like the option of having the controls on the battery as well. Makes it easy to change angels and still be able to control the camera.

I use this product for all day/night shooting on my rebel T2i. Set up was very simple, looks good on the camera, the shoot button as well as aperture control on the grip is very convenient althought it does take some getting use to. All in all it does what it suppose to do and I would defintely reccommend this product

I purchased the Vello BG-C5 battery grip for my Canon T2i. The grip gives me more to hang on to when shooting. I use my T2i primarily for work and I like having the option if I find myself in a pinch of being able to switch from the dual LP-E8 battery packs to 6 AA batteries with the included insert.

I bought this grip together with my Canon T3i and it works great. It can hold 1 or 2 batteries as well uses 6 AAA batteries. I like it that you can use ordinary batteries so you won't have to worry about running out of charge.

I purchased the grip to enable me to use AA batts for repowering a T2i shooting video in areas where AC might not be available. It is well made and has been working consistently since being employed. The only down side seems to be that once attached its footprint is no longer suited to simple camera cases.

This product is probably not as durable as the Canon battery grip, but it's also about half the price. As a hobbyist, it seems fine for my needs - doubling my battery time and improving my vertical picture taking. I doubt a pro would be happy with it, but if you're a pro, you also probably shouldn't be shooting with a T2i or T3i.

The BG-C5 is excellent on my T3i. It's super easy to install and I just have to say, it feels amazing. It feel solid and more like a part of the camera rather than an attachment. It's cheaper than the Canon grip, and IMO feels better. The only reason I didn't give this grip 5 stars is because there are two types of battery holders it comes with (the Canon battery tray and the AA battery tray). While the Canon batteries work excellently, the AA are just garbage. And I would think 6 AAs should last longer than 2 hours, but I have gone through a few times now and it's a waste of time to even load the back up tray.
Worth the money? COMPLETELY!

If your shooting the Portrait / Vertical shots a battery grip is a must! With that being said: What grip is the best to use? Being on a budget, this grip was just what I needed.
I like that it comes with an extra battery, so that you will have extra shooting time. Plus, it has the 6 AA battery "backup" that could be used in a pinch.
The plastic is not as high grade as the battery grip from Canon, but then again your not paying the high price tag either. The only down side I've had with it. (The Battery Meeter works just fine for me, don't know why others are having problems with theirs..)
