This drive is great for storing data but if you plan to use it to transport data it might not be a good choice. The size is so small it is easy to misplace. For my purpose it's perfect. I only use it to hold music for my car stereo. The transfer speed isn't great but not the worst I've had either. I haven't done a speed test but I'd say the speed is average. One downside for my use is that the activity light flashes continuously which is rather annoying in the dark.

Perhaps I had just received a defective one... but when I went to eject this drive from my notebook the plastic coating came right off. Since it is such a small size, it was a real struggle to get out of my USB port. When I finally got it out, my computer no longer would recognize it. As far as performance prior to this event, it seemed to work fine.

The drive is the size of the new wireless adapter, but holds 32 GB (30 Useable). Has built in backup software that can be setup for scheduled backups. Highly recommend this drive; just try not to lose it.

32GB Echo ZE Backup Drive is the perfect small footprint way to contain all my tunes for I-tunes without using space on my hard drive --- and it is removable!

Comments about Lexar 32GB Echo ZE Backup Drive:
I got this drive because it can be plugged into my ultra-portable notebook (or any device) and can stay plugged in since it only sticks out about 6 mm. I use it to put TV and music on my laptop for watching on the train. It is fast and tiny. When not plugged in it fits in my headphones case I keep in my pocket for listening to my iPhone. It is about the size of the last segment of your pinky finger, but more flat, so it is tiny. It is SO CUTE! I feel like I'm handing over a baby when people want to hold it.
My only negative on this drive is that the small cap on the end can come off, as it can take a lot of pull to get the drive out. It seems to stay on the drive fine when I pop it back on. Note that my computer has tight USB ports, and since it stays plugged in and doesn't get in the way this is a HUGE plus for me (I'd hate to lose a 32GB drive!). I will likely get one or two more for friends (or myself, and now my GF is asking for one as I type...). :)
I also use this with Yumi for multiboot utilities (live *nix distros), so if you're a techie and need live distro tools, grab this sucker. SO useful, and still have a ton of space for video and music.

I like the small size and large storage capacity. Running contact management software using the flash drive is much slower than using a typical hard drive. It's best for storage and not active use. I can not comment on durability as I have not owned it very long.

Bought this to use as an incremental backup between full backups. Description sounded great. Software is funky and extremely slow to start,
definitely not user friendly, but once started the backup went well. Took a couple hours to find all the files that needed backing up, but got the job done.
The next day the backup did not go as well. Software was again extremely slow to come up, but this time the back up would not start.
I don't have time to fiddle around for an hour or more every evening trying to get the back up started. I'll be looking for new backup software to buy.
I'm running windows 7 and I'm no novice when it comes to software. I'm a web developer and I'm on my computer 8 or 9 hours a day.
Expect to have to search for other software if you buy this.

This flash drive is perfect for use with my ultra-light, ultra-portable MacBook Air. It's great that it's always in whether for back-up or room for additional data.

I bought two of these to use with my macbook air 11 which has only a small ssd built in. The echo ze drives do the job and are a great match for a macbook air or a small netbook where size matters. For day to day use on a desktop where size doesn't matter so much you can get faster devices for a similar cost.

I use the drive as a back-up drive that stays in the USB port of my laptop. Unlike larger flash-drives that protrude an inch or two (and therefore are broken off easily), this drive extends 1/4" so I don't have to worry about bending/breaking it. This is the best back-up system I've come across.
