Canon's imageCLASS D480 Black & White Laser Multifunction Copier provides all-mode duplex capabilities for printing, copying, scanning (up to 9600dpi interpolated resolution) and faxing. This compact office companion delivers crisp and clear prints and copies at speeds up to 23 pages-per-minute (ppm) and boasts a first print out time of approximately 9 seconds.
The D480 has network capabilities via its built-in Ethernet port so you can easily share printing, PC faxing, and scanning directly from your PC. It produces true-to-original copies and scans and features a Super G3 (33.6 Kbps) fax to send and receive documents.
The imageCLASS D480 has a built-in 50-sheet Duplex Automatic Document Feeder (DADF) which really helps speed workflow. It allows you to easily create two-sided documents from both single- and double-sided originals which enhances creative opportunities and saves you money by reducing the volume of paper used. The D480 also comes with a 250-sheet front-loading paper cassette and a single-sheet multipurpose tray for printing on heavier media such as envelopes or cards.
The D480 incorporates the Canon Single Cartridge System, which combines the toner and drum in one easy-to-replace unit, resulting in excellent image quality consistency and eliminating the hassle of storing and replacing separate toner and drum units. This laser printer is only 15.4" (39cm) wide and 17.4" (44cm) deep. It is a desktop solution tailored for streamlining home and small office operations.
Note: Wireless printing requires a working Ethernet network with wireless 802.11b/g capability. The server supports Silex print and scan functions only. It is compatible with Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2003, XP, and 2000 only. 1

Comments about Canon imageCLASS D480 Black & White Laser Multifunction Copier:
I bought the D480 for its printing capability, not expecting the scanner to do such a nice job with documents and photographs. (The scanner is a bit noisy, but not excessively so.)

We had to replace our old Image Class Multifunction Copier, this is the unit we chose and it works like a charm, the functions are easier to interface with and so far everything has been great.

Comments about Canon imageCLASS D480 Black & White Laser Multifunction Copier:
Easy setup, easy to use. Output is good quality. I use this as my office copier - it's not connected to my network or my fax. I may connect with my network as a scanner, as it appears to be easier to use and faster than my Xerox Documate 510.
