The Samsung's SMX-F44 Digital Memory Camcorder (Red) is an entry-level standard def camera with a 16GB internal flash memory and the option to shoot to SD/SDHC/MMC cards. The Internal memory stores up to 8 hours of H.264 SD files, while optional flash media allows for even more file storage. In addition to 720 x 480 video, the F44 also captures 1600 x 1200 still images. The camera is aided by a 1/6" CCD image sensor, a Schneider Kreuznach lens, 52x optical and 65x Intelligent Zoom, and a 2.7" LCD display. Other helpful features include Face Detection, Time Lapse Recording, and Animated Thumbnails, to name a few.
- H.264 Recording
- H.264 compression lets you record up to eight hours of standard definition video directly to the camcorder's internal flash memory without having to rely on a memory card
- Memory Options
- The F44 includes an amazing 16GB of internal flash memory for 8 hours of recording time. The internal memory slot also accepts both SD and MMC. Play videos, transfer images, music and documents quickly and easily using the memory type of your choice
- Schneider Lens with Intelligent Zoom
- The Schneider lens features 65x Intelligent Zoom which allows you to go beyond the camcorder's 52x optical zoom without sacrificing image quality. It's significantly more reliable than a standard digital zoom which negatively affects the quality of the image
- 2.7" Wide LCD
- The 2.7" wide LCD display accurately displays and replays your footage
- Photo Mode
- Photo mode allows you to use the camcorder as a digital camera. Want a still photo instead of video? Leave your camera at home and snap 1600 x 1200 resolution images
- Face Detection
- Face Detection automatically recognizes up to five faces and adjusts settings to ensure that each is properly focused
- Time Lapse Recording
- Time lapse recording allows users to program the camcorder to record at a pre-set interval of one image every 1, 3, 5, 10, 15, or 30 seconds. Time lapse recording is especially useful for condensing extremely long events, such as rolling clouds on a sunny day, into a short, easy-to-view video
- Animated Thumbnails
- Samsung's animated thumbnail feature simplifies the way users search for video clips on the SMX-F44. Each video clip saved on the camcorder is represented by a small thumbnail on the LCD screen. When scrolling through one's videos, each thumbnail will provide a short playback of the video file when highlighted by the user allowing them to quickly preview each clip without having to view the entire shot

- Smart Auto analyzes key elements of a scene's composition such as color, brightness, motion and subject and then automatically selects the appropriate scene mode which will produce the best results possible. Choose from eight different scene modes including night, white, indoor, macro, landscape, portrait, night portrait, and auto
- Play-Edit-Share with Intelli Studio 2.0
- The Intelli Studio 2.0 software allows users to view, edit, and upload content to the web from any PC anywhere in the world. Connecting to a computer using the supplied USB cable not only enables users to edit and play a video without having to install supporting software, but also automatically charges the camcorder as well. The built-in Intelli Studio software also helps simplify the way users upload and share their footage using social networking sites
