Comments about Buffalo 2TB DriveStation Combo 4 External Hard Drive:
The drive worked great with my Mac (OS X Lion 10.7.3). I connected it up via the Firewire 800 port. No issues. Why did I choose this drive? I have a MacBook Pro with an external 32" Dell Monitor. My Thunderbolt connection is dedicated to my Dell Monitor. So I thought I would take advantage of the rarely used Firewire port. This would leave my two often used (and slower) USB2 ports free.

Comments about Buffalo 2TB DriveStation Combo 4 External Hard Drive:
This drive is large and offers 4 different input selections (e-sata, firewire 400 and 800, and usb 2.0. It is proving to be reliable for an image backup of the boot drive, including regular updating of the image. The firewire 400 connection was occasionally less reliable (would drop out - I would have to reboot to get it back). I switched to usb and that has been OK. I also reformatted it to NTSF which accomodates larger files.

was not happy with WD drives I had purchased in past, this drive has a more "industrial" feel. More compact, about half the size of WD...

Comments about Buffalo 2TB DriveStation Combo 4 External Hard Drive:
I bought this 2TB Buffalo External Drive a few weeks ago to use with my iMac for Time Machine backup, and it has performed flawlessly. I hooked it up via USB 400 and instructed Time Macnine to start using it and it just did its thing. No fuss. [...] The majority of my files are professional photos for my photography business.

Comments about Buffalo 2TB DriveStation Combo 4 External Hard Drive:
I reformatted this drive to NTFS, and attached it and a twin to a Dell server running Windows2003Server via USB. It is working great, so far. The power supply brick is compact and only occupies one space on the power strip.
