Philips LFH0612/27 Voice Tracer Digital Recorder
The LFH0612/27 Voice Tracer Digital Recorder is an entry-level recorder from Philips. Unlike most entry-level voice recorders the LFH0612/27 lets you do more than just store files to the unit itself. Thanks to the USB connection you can transfer recorded files to your Windows, Mac OS, or Linux computer via the USB connection for storage, editing (via an MP3 compatible editing software), and playback. The Voice Tracer also features a lightweight design that's also ergonomic - meaning it's easy to carry around and forgiving on your wrist, hand, and joints. Other highlights of the Voice Tracer include voice-activated recording, onboard file folders, and clean audio playback.

I'm a singer/performer, and I often record lessons and accompaniment in order to practice later on. For a low price, this recorder fit the bill perfectly. The practical, well-designed controls/interface are simple* to navigate, and the sound quality (though mono) is exceptional.
*I did, however, have to obtain the text version of the user's manual via the internet. The included "universal" manual didn't go into enough detail to clearly describe the secondary functions of the unit. But don't let that put you off this purchase. It's great!
