The Zi10 PlayTouch Video Camera (Blue) is a sleek HD pocket camcorder from the grand-daddy of photographic imaging, Kodak. Like all camcorders in the genre, the PlayTouch features a compact form-factor. Being this small, pocket cams generally don't have room for larger, touch screen LCDs. Not so with the PlayTouch. Kodak gave this camera a 3" touch screen LCD that allows for viewing in portrait or landscape.
In addition to its 1920 x 1080 HD video and 5.3MP digital still capture, the features of the PlayTouch set it apart from the pack. Digital image stabilization, HDMI and A/V outputs, and a microphone and headphone connection are all rarely seen features in the world of pocket camcorders. Other useful functions, such as 4x digital zoom, a built-in USB connection, and a built-in rechargeable battery aid in recording as well.
When it's time to edit and share what you've shot, the PlayTouch allows for playback and review on its generous 3" LCD. You can also easily share your memories when connected to your PC or Mac with the built-in USB connection. The built-in ARCSOFT MEDIA IMPRESSION software helps edit and share with PCs, while Mac users can edit and share using MPEG4 compatible editing programs.

I mostly used this for vedioing my gandson (boy does he move fast)but with the compact size it was easy to keep up with him. I had trouble switching from camera to vedio but I hadn't really read the instructions throughly enough. I was so excited to use it. The camera takes nice pictures and the vedios are nice and clear even when I'm changing directions suddenly. I would recommend this product to everyone.

I need video for all the social media stuff at work. This camera makes it easy to upload onto facebook and YouTube, and is really a life saver. Barely weighs enough to notice! Only flaw, the in-camera editing is a little tricky.

I use this camera to record songs on my ukulele and to record long board rips around town. What I like mostly is obviously the external mic input on the camera although when I used it first with an SM58 it sounds like it is only recording audio into one channel the right I believe. So when listening through head phones you only get one head phone the other is fuzz. I will most likely play around with other smaller microphones before contacting tech support. My only other complaint would be the still images are a poorer quality than expected. Other than that very user friendly, light, and portable.

I love the Zi10 Camera as it's such an easy high definition camerea to us. The feature I love the most about this camera is the 3.5mm microphone imput.
This enables you to plug an external microphone into the camera for excellent sound quality. Many larger more expensive cameras don't have this feature so this is a great feature for a budget camera.
The WVGA mode enables you to shoot videos ready to upload onto video sharing sites such as youtube and it's compact enough to take anyway.

Everything is great on this camera especially the mic level option - only complain is the screen when in recording mode/camera mode is not full screen. Camera pics are ok no the greatest. Love the mic imput!

I bought the silver version of this camera,I had a
problem with it playing back after recording.B & H
swapped it out and the new one works great.Decent images in good light,low light leaves a little to be desired, however for the money its pretty amazing.Just don't expect results that a 3 chip
camera will deliver.Stills look good, could use
a flash for taking stills in low light conditions.

I love this mini camcorder for many reasons! It is so easy to just throw into my daiper bag so that I can take it anywhere and not miss videoing special moments of my daughter. It is very easy to use. My mother isn't very good with technology, but she was able to figure this camera out easily. The HD video and sound work really well. I also like that it can take still shots so that I don't have to keep an additional camera in my bag. It is so easy to use and great if you need to video something quickly. If I had to pull out a larger camera to video I might miss whatever my daughter was doing that I wanted to video. I am very excited about this video camera and look forward to using it more.

This is a great little digital camera that gets this pre-work done and is very easy to use with quick features (black and White, sepia and 70's look) that is a time saver.

We use this as a basic video camera for student productions -- our students ARE NOT video savvy as our university does not offer a degree in either television or film but instructors are still willing to assign a video production for a project (go figure). As one can imagine, the video projects overall are pretty bad both content and production value wise--the camera makes it easier for the students to turn something in as it takes great video and allows a microphone to be plugged in. The USB file can be dragged easily on to a computer for editing.
