The Zi10 PlayTouch Video Camera (Orange) is a sleek HD pocket camcorder from the grand-daddy of photographic imaging, Kodak. Like all camcorders in the genre, the PlayTouch features a compact form-factor. Being this small, pocket cams generally don't have room for larger, touch screen LCDs. Not so with the PlayTouch. Kodak gave this camera a 3" touch screen LCD that allows for viewing in portrait or landscape.
In addition to its 1920 x 1080 HD video and 5.3MP digital still capture, the features of the PlayTouch set it apart from the pack. Digital image stabilization, HDMI and A/V outputs, and a microphone and headphone connection are all rarely seen features in the world of pocket camcorders. Other useful functions, such as 4x digital zoom, a built-in USB connection, and a built-in rechargeable battery aid in recording as well.
When it's time to edit and share what you've shot, the PlayTouch allows for playback and review on its generous 3" LCD. You can also easily share your memories when connected to your PC or Mac with the built-in USB connection. The built-in ARCSOFT MEDIA IMPRESSION software helps edit and share with PCs, while Mac users can edit and share using MPEG4 compatible editing programs.

For the money you cannot go wrong with this simple on the go camcorder. Using a 32 gb sd card, it would fantastic for vactions and trips to sporting events. The camera has alot of blur and it does not take very good pictures.
The recording sound is not that great either at ranges greater than 15 feet, but you can't expect it to be for the price.

I am using this product for my senior capstone project at college. The Zi10 works like a charm. Touch screen is easy to use. The only thing that is not great is the usb port its kind of hard to open up the compartment. The sound alone is not that great. I would recommend and external microphone.

This is a great little camera. The image quality is quite good if you turn the settings up. The reason I purchased it is because it takes an external microphone which drammatically improves the sound especially during a narration. The controls are easy to operate, but zooming is hard to do while filming because it is a touch screen and it is very easy to move the camera while touching the screen to zoom. Having a SD/SDHC card slot is a good feature that some other small camcorders do not have. Be sure to go online and get the firmware update, because that made a huge difference in sound quality for me.

Very lightweight and small. For what it is it will get the job done for the correct purpose. I do not like the touch screen. If the touch screen were a bit smaller it would be perfect. But since it is so big while holding the camera sometimes I will accidentally touch the screen and do something I didn't mean to. I like the fact that I can upgrade the sd card to the size I want.

I purchased the PlaySport Zx5 along with PlayTouch Zi10. Both are excellent, pocket HD Camcorders. No match for high-end HD camcorders, but worth the inexpensive price. I actually prefer the non-touch control of the PlaySport, over the touch-screen of the PlayTouch. Easier to grab and run with. That said, I am disappointed that the PlaySport does not offer replacement battery. Not good!
Image quality-wise: both camcorders are acceptable for the investment cost. I use them for point-n-shoot situations, i.e. bike riding, filming out the window while driving. Best use: filming large subjects in "normal light", rather than landscape and challenging glare, or darkness. Okay for well-lit, indoor night scenes.
Both Kodak models are excellent for MACRO filming! Really excellent!

Kept with me most of the time for unexpected scenes such as for wildlife and weather phenom.
Great that is small and easily carried. Vid quality is good in bright daylight.
Wish it was waterproof like the others by Kodak, but did not considered since I wanted to be able to extend shooting for long periods of time, ie replacable battery.

The touch screen works great but the fact that I constantly trigger functions just by holding this camera in my hand is nerve wrecking. Accidentally deleted a 30min file that way and constantly call menu functions unintended. A simple "lock screen" utility would do the trick.
And don't think about pulling the SD card out of the unit. The camera definitely doesn't approve such "rude" behavior. I had to re-format the SD card every time when I pulled it out.
Price- and size wise it makes for a handy gadget but don't expect too much. It feels flimsy.
