The nVIDIA Quadro 4000 Display Card from PNY is a professional graphics card, compatible with Windows and Linux workstation computers. The card installs in an available PCI Express 2.0 x16 slot.
The Quadro is designed to accelerate professional applications that are used to produce 3D graphics. Its CUDA Parallel Computing Architecture can be leveraged by many popular programming languages -- including C/C++ and Fortran. This allows you to create custom applications that are tightly integrated with the GPU.
The card features a Dual-Link DVI output and two DisplayPort output, any of which can drive a high-resolution digital display. It also features a 3D Vision Pro stereo output, which allows you to use the card to output true 3D graphics.

Bought this to replace less reliable earlier model Quadro FX cards. Immediately system instability problems that I had always had with the FX line went away. And my system rating now is only limited by my system drive.
All the talk about the card running hot is exaggerated. It is not in danger of overheating; it just gets warm when it's operating - just like everything else (CPU, RAM, etc.). That's why your case has fans and the card itself has a fan on it.
I have experience with the more expensive siblings to this card with machines outside of my own, and I have to say that this card is just as good. The extra RAM and GPUs in the beefier cards just don't really translate to performance involvements; they just translate to a lighter wallet.
It's a great card. If you are a professional working graphics, video editing, etc. - you can't go wrong with this card.

I purchased this card six months ago because it was highly recommended by Adobe to render video projects. Both display link ports failed five days ago. Since that time I have submitted several RMAs and eMails to the PNY support web portal. There has been absolutely NO response from the PNY Product Support group. The conclusion is the PNY department is woefully understaffed or the failure rate on these hot running cards has swamped PNY's meager resources.

This is a very good graphics card for motion graphics and video editing. It was easy to install, assuming that you have enough room in you're case. I have had only one case were it froze up on me while rendering, and that may have been a software problem. It cut my render time of 28 minutes down to 10 minutes. It works well with Adobe CS4 but it really flies with CS5.0 and newer. I would highly recommend it.

Comments about PNY Technologies nVIDIA Quadro 4000 Display Card:
Using the Quadro 4000 with Adobe CS5 suite.
I mostly use after effects which it does not help in a lot of cases. I have not done too much testing yet but have found that it works well in pulling keys and also with things like lens blur, but will only help with effects which are made for the card.
As far as Premiere Pro goes it did not seem to help with the amount of layers over my GTX 260 at all.
I am using an older CPU though, a quad core without hyperthreading so this may be effecting things, I will soon be changing the whole CPU, Motherboard so hopefully that will change.
Have not had a chance to try with Lightwave yet but I am sure it will help there.

Comments about PNY Technologies nVIDIA Quadro 4000 Display Card:
This is the first and most expensive quadro card I ever have so I did a lot research before pulling the trigger. Had a Quadro FX 1300 and a Quadro FX 580 before.
It's easy to install and quiet.
The temperature range at idle is around 40's deg. C and the max temp was ~ 67 deg C when test burning a 2-3 min. video clip with Avid studio; sharp and smooth when playing 5 video clip at the same.
It's an excellent video card so far.

Comments about PNY Technologies nVIDIA Quadro 4000 Display Card:
I needed a Quadro card with a 3 pin mini-DIN stereo connector for stereo 3D viewing on the Linux platform. (The nVidia 3D Vision driver for Windows will support the IR emitter over USB, but not the driver for Linux). The Quadro 4000 seems to be the cheapest current model supporting this usage. It works, but I wish nVidia would offer a card to do the job which was physically smaller and used less power. The size of the card demands a large computer case with good ventilation.

Comments about PNY Technologies nVIDIA Quadro 4000 Display Card:
After making the mistake of buying an NVIDIA Quadro 2000D for my high-end 3D graphics work with software such as Maya, 3DS Max, and plug-ins such as XFrog, Terragen, RealFlow, etc., I cashed in the 2000D for the 4000 and have found it entirely satisfactory. Clearly, it's at the low end of the 4000/5000/6000 series, but if you're serious about 3D work and don't want to spend more for your graphics card than you did for your whole system, this is the card for you, particularly if you're a solo artist (as I am now, until someone deigns to hire me). Although it doesn't have the horsepower of the 5000 or 6000, unless you're running a render farm, I believe this is a great card for the price.

Comments about PNY Technologies nVIDIA Quadro 4000 Display Card:
I bought this card because I needed a card that supports Display Port 30 bit technology for my new Eizo Flexscan monitor. I'm using this for my photography business.
It took some doing, but after uninstalling the drivers and re-installing them, I finally got it to work correctly.
My first Quadro graphics card. I love the combination of Eizo and Quadro through the display port. Very flexible and excellent graphics!
Only reason I gave it a 4 and not 5 is because of the tricky install and I don't have any comparison to the higher end (and more expensive)Quadro's. It does seem like the best Pro graphics card for the money though.

WOW, throw multiple HD streams on the time line and pile on the effects. They all play back real-time. Using the new GPU-enabled Ultra keyer is a dream, no more sample renders to see if you have a stable edge. Just set your key and watch the footage.

Very good product by comparing price and quality.
Product recommended for work with 3D programs (Autodesk, etc. ..) and video production (Adobe, etc. ..).
Powerful graphics card. Currently using Nvidia Quadro FX1800 graphics card and this is nearly 7 to 10 more powerful. Very interesting work together Nvidia and Adobe to use this card as an accelerator.
Very useful for people who want to go home to work professional jobs without spending much money.

I purchased this card for its hardware acceleration of the Adobe Suite. So far, Photoshop is quick and responsive. The install process was very easy and have had no problems. Only required 1 power input, where my last card required 2. Output to 2 monitors.

Works great with all my Adobe products. Photoshop works smoother and doesn't drag when painting any more. You just have to change the settings in the preferences to advance for the graphics card. So far, I can't find a thing wrong with this card. I would ablolutely recommend it to anyone who is looking to upgrade.
