This Mac Pro was the best option for me, I was looking for a powerhouse to take the place of the MacBook. I am using it for all my photography, web design and development, plus all my iTunes and streaming for my home entertainment. Also wanted a good machine that I could add on to and this gave me that option.
I am still considering the new MacBook Air to complete my home and work needs, just cause I do need the portability.

Too bad there's no Thunderbolt port on these.
The drive bays are so easy to work with ( I easily added 3 1TB SATA drives for a RAID 0) and card installing is easy, too. (Not enough slots, though) Someday very soon an 8-12 core Mac Mini or iMac with Thunderbolt peripherals will do all that these Mac Pros can do. In a year I may be frustrated by new model w/ Thunderbolt - or even discontinuation of Mac Pro line, but for now as an audio professional who needs a new computer a.s.a.p. this is the choice.

Comments about Apple Mac Pro 8-Core Desktop Computer Workstation:
I use my new Mac Pro for audio/music production. It can handle heavy, CPU intensive sessions in both Logic Studio and ProTools 9 with complete ease. I find it quiet, fast and smart, sharing the processing load among all 8 cores very efficiently.
I have no cons at this time since I've only had it for about 2 weeks now but can honestly say that my studio setup has had a huge boost in efficiency and power. Highly recommended!

I received my new Mac Pro from B&H in the time window promised, and I was able to assemble the monitor and other accessories without any problem. I bought this computer because I need a more powerful computer to use Final Cut Pro Studio 7, and so far so good. The Apple Cinema Display 27" is absolutely gorgeous. I bought it separately from another vendor. But, the two parts together work like a dream.

Comments about Apple Mac Pro 8-Core Desktop Computer Workstation:
I bought this machine 1 month ago , and i have to say as a professional Photographer and Video editor this mac pro is the fastest machine i ever seen
i set it up with 32GB of Ram and 4X2TB HD and one 120GB SSD as my boot in the lower optical drive , this mac pro is blazing fast , and it's very quiet, which was not the case with the 2008,2009 mac pro's.
This mac pro allows me to export 800 RAW Files (via Adobe Lightroom 3) WITH A resolution of 1920x1080 in 2 min 22 while the newest quad core imac in 56 min ! and the core i7 2.8 Ghz macbook pro in 1 hour 7 min !
I highly recommend this model but not the 12 core because i already try to use most of my mac pro so 8 physical core and the other 8 virtual cores which is 16 cores but my maximum use was 14 cores, so to use 24 cores is impossible so it will be a high waste of money . So better to spend money for RAM and HD and SSD .

I heard about a Mac a lot. So decided to buy one. I have another HP Workstaion 3.0 Xeon, and 16 GB memorry and 4TB HD. The PC is much faster than my new Mac Pro. Although it has only 6 GB RAM but still it is not as fast as should be. I am little bit disappointed. But it has few plus though. It is beautiful.
