The JVC BN-VG138 Data Battery (3.6V, 3750mAh) is designed as a spare or replacement battery for HD and standard-definition Everio camcorders. Received the battery after a few days with no issues.
Battery worked right out of the box after a few hours of charging. I will have no problem recharging the battery overnight and I will get a good days worth of recording from the overnight charge.
I have a JVC Everio camcorder HM30RU, when the battery is fully charged, the camcorder indicates a max use time of 330 minutes! I shoot regular def more often than not, so I expect to see close to 4-5 hours of recording time.
The camcorder can also record in high def. I will update after my next trip. Coming soon!
Only issue: the battery is a little loose in the battery slot (moves slightly) but this has not caused any problems.

I bought this as a second battery for a GZ-HM690BU and wind up using it on each outing as the provided battery only works a little over 90 minutes and I shoot usually three or four hours. I get as much usage as I get out of two BN-VG121U that I use on my GZ-HD620BU. You always have to change a battery at the most inopportune moment. So far the only drawback is the in camera recharging time.

I'm using this battery in my JVC Everio GZ-HM870 video camera, and it's a marked step up on the standard battery supplied with this camera. The standard battery is a very small unit, providing only ~60mins of operational life before needing recharging for another 60 minutes. This new battery, however, provides over 3x the normal battery's life and is just over twice the size.
Compared to other upgraded batteries this one is overpowered and undersized for the job it does, which is provide the camera's very energy-hungry needs mostly via it's high-powered HD recording capabilities, large LCD screen, enormous zoom through the GT lens, widescreen performance, etc.
I've found this battery performs well doing it's designated tasks and takes a modest recharge time when it finally does get exhausted.
I'd definitely take this product over a cheaper, undecoded version, requiring an external DC plug connector to operate. This JVC version will undoubtedly last longer than the cheaper ones will and there's a decent warranty to go with it.
