I have multiple of this item and use them to mount hand-held and medium sized cameras for hunting footage in places where a tripod isn't usable. The clamp is plenty wide enough to fit deer stands, duck blinds, etc. and does not slip - it stays firmly mounted. This is a bit heavier than sum of the other mounts I've had; but the weight helps with the stability. The movement/motion is smooth and reliable.

When I received this product I was immediately impressed with the quality and construction. It has a VERY smooth head on it, with a simple tightening of the handle, it is solid. I also love the easy release for the foot. There was no movement what-so-ever which was great for stability. It is high quality, and heavy. If you need a good, strong, solid window mount to hold more than a small spotting scope, or camera, this is your mount. Also, the mount bracket itself is bigger than expected allowing you to mount it to more than just a window. Overall, I was very impressed with the construction, quality, and price. I would highly recommend Vanguard products.

I use the mount for wildlife photography form a car, using a telephoto lens. Very stable and easily adjustable mount. Quick and easy to mount to any window, once I mount it to a window, I usually leave it there while I am out. The quick release allows me to quickly remove the camera from the mount, while leaving the mount on the window and ready for use. Good product, highly recommend.
