The Veracity HIGHWIRE QUAD Ethernet over Coax Converter (4-Port) integrates a 4-port PoE switch, allowing you to replace an old analog video camera with up to 4 IP cameras. It also turns the legacy 12V or 24V power into a universal Power over Ethernet (PoE) supply.
Speed, duplex, and crossover are sensed on connection of the HIGHWIRE Ethernet over Coax Converter, thus requiring no setup. In addition, no configuration is required when you connect the unit in place of the old analog camera, and a regular HIGHWIRE at the other end of the cable, as the link will be established automatically. Using universal IEEE 802.3af standard, the HIGHWIRE QUAD can not only detect power but also enable it for IP cameras, with up to 30W for devices such as fixed IP megapixel or dome cameras.
The HIGHWIRE QUAD Ethernet over Coax Converter is invisible to Ethernet data, and does not need a MAC or IP address. Besides auto-optimizing for all 75 ohm coaxial cables, the long connection range of the converter makes it suitable for network connections beyond 328' (100m).
Featuring a universal power input, the HIGHWIRE QUAD Ethernet over Coax Converter is ideal for low-voltage installations and can also be used on legacy coaxial cables. Compared to Cat5 cables, the coaxial cables coil and bend appropriately, making the converter appropriate for allowing network access to elevator carriages, VoIP, security, lift panel, and other devices.
