Based on the popular Beats headphones, Monster now offers the Beats by Dr. Dre Solo HD On-Ear Headphones with ControlTalk (White). The Beats Solo HD headphones have a smaller, lighter design than their big brother, but offer high-definition sound quality that's just as amazing. Ideal for today's digital music, these headphones have proprietary titanium-coated drivers to provide deep bass, a bold midrange, and clear, undistorted treble so you can hear every detail.
The on-ear, closed-back design provides long-lasting comfort and a high degree of natural noise isolation. It also has a tri-fold design for convenient storage in the included case. The single-sided detachable cable is designed to provide you with plenty of slack while resisting tangles. Integrated into the cable is Monster's ControlTalk module, which provides you with a high-grade microphone and 3 control buttons, ideal for making phone calls, taking voice notes, controlling music playback, and adjusting volume on compatible iPods, iPhones, and Blackberrys. The gold-plated 3.5mm plug has a low-profile right-angle design and provides wide compatibility with MP3 players, CD players, computers, and more.

The headset itself is very attractive, made of sturdy material and very comfortable to wear. Great sound, although I found using the treble equalizer on the iPhone helpful if the bass was a bit heavy. Love the controls on the cable for taking calls and controlling tracks. Brilliant soft case for when carrying in your bag. Overall, well worth the wait and very happy. Damon.

In terms of design and style factor, this pair of Dr Dre headphone is definitely one of its kinds in the market right now. Being compact, lightweight yet stylish at the same time, how many headphones out there can rival these qualities all at once? Being spotted on the head and hanging on the necks of some big names in the music industry (eg, Will I Am, Lil Wayne, G dragon from Big bang), it is a walking testimony to this pair of headphones. It also helps that it can be easily folded and reduced to just a palm-size and stored in the black casing that was provided. Now, good music can be accessible anywhere, even when you are on the go!
For the style conscious who refuse to compromise on music quality, this wicked pair of headphones is definitely for you. I felt as if I was whisked off into another world when I donned it on. The noise isolation function works well even on the crowded public transport and be it soothing acoustic music or the R&B genre or even rock songs, it never fails to deliver clear crisp sound. The only downside would be the bass which might be a bit too heavy for some. Then again, one of the draws of Beats is the heavy bass and that's probably what people got the headphones for. Therefore depending on your preference, this might either work to your advantage or otherwise.
Despite promising long-lasting comfort, I thought the headphones got a bit uncomfortable to wear after some time. The material of the ear padding is extremely soft to the touch. However, the size is a little too small for my ears and that was what hindered me from enjoying the overall music experience.
Overall, I'm satisfied with this pair of sleek instrument which lives up to almost all of it's claims. Most negative reviews on the net revolve around the hefty price tag that comes with it. Of course I know that there are comparable headphones out there which would burn a smaller hole in your pocket than these. However, one must take into account that designer goods are often priced slightly higher to deter the product from becoming mass market. Furthermore, given that celebrities are also endorsing it, I would be surprised if it was priced any cheaper.

The sound quality is powerful but not balanced. For everyday use, the phones stand up and feel comfortable, and they are pretty versatile. But if you're listening to anything but bass-heavy hip-hop or R&B, you'll notice a profound problem with the balance of the frequencies that makes the higher register, crash cymbals, or distorted guitars sound murky.
