This 6' cable is an iPhone/iPod charge and sync cable and a composite A/V cable. Additionally, the cable comes with a USB power adapter for charging your device in an AC wall outlet.
How does the cable work? Quite simply, the cable connects to the 30-pin dock connector on your compatible iPod or iPhone. You are then able to power your device with your computer using the USB connection or sync to iTunes. Using the USB power adapter and the USB connection you can also power your device in an AC wall outlet.

Works well in the house and in the car DVD hookup, which was the main use I bought it for. No problems with either video input or just using it for music through the DVD inputs, AND it will charge at the same time with the lighter adapter I already owned. Well made and with enough slack in the lines to put phone on window mount, plug into lighter and AV out to DVD at passenger seat mounting. Excellent and fast shipping.

I bought this cable setup strictly for the audio connection ability from iPod/iPhone to stereo receiver. I can not comment on the video connection since I personally have no use for that feature.As an audio connector, I could not be happier with the sound quality - 5 stars on that alone. And that is w/o factoring in the added benefit of the charger unit packed w/ the cables. Lastly, B&H pricing saved me approximately $16 when you factor in the tax-free[...] pricing over a big-box retailer, where I first saw the item.

I bought an Apple branded cable which works fine but needed another one to have in at a different location and this is by far the best deal for your money. Almost half the cost of a Apple branded cable for tha same function.
