The Boris FX Continuum 3D Objects Unit (Win) allows you to create 3D objects using 5 effect filters, namely, Extruded Text, Extruded EPS, Type-On Text, Extruded Spline Filter, and Layer Deformer Filter. NLE editors like Adobe After Effects (AE), Apple Final Cut Pro, Apple Motion, and Apple Final Cut Express are supported by this unit.
An OpenGL-accelerated 3D text generator with built-in 3D shatters and warp deformer is incorporated into the BCC Extruded Text filter. Custom bevels, extrusions, and text on a path are defined using AE masks and the resulting 3D image adheres to AE's native camera and light control. The filter allows you to create multiple 3D materials through AE layer or external image files which feature texture, reflections, and bump maps. Generated 3D material can be individually saved as presets and applied to the front, back, bevel, or extrusion surface of the text object, and this material can be further deformed and animated with innovative deformers such as bend, taper, twist, shatter, ripple, pulse, or curl.
Illustrator layered vector logos and graphics with full integration using After Effects 3D camera and lighting system can be imported and extruded using the Extruded EPS filter. It also includes standard 3D material presets and free-form deformation properties. EPS files can be tracked using a Watch folder, which makes it "live" in case it is edited in Illustrator. Original fill colors for each element can be preserved via a handy Keep EPS Color feature.
You can animate 3D extruded text in type-on or type-off fashion using the BCC Type-On Text filter, and the 3D properties of BCC extruded text filter are available in the Type-on effect.
Based on AE masks or built-in primitives, the BCC Extruded Spline filter creates 3D extruded objects modeled with bevels and spline-based extrusion profiles.
Using the BCC Layer Deformer filter, 2D layers can be warped in 3D space, and 3D shatters and bend deformers can be applied. It also allows you to create 3D shapes with multiple layers mapped on to the surface. True 3D shapes are animated with AE's native camera and lights.
