I bought this printer to use on location and also in the office for small prints. It is very compact and with the external battery (accessory) makes for a portable set up. 6x4 prints take approx 45 seconds and are of surprisingly good quality. The menu system is straight forward and easy to use. However, watch for dust - the paper tray and ink slot doors are a glossy surface and seem to attract dust easily, quite at odds with the rest of the matte exterior surface, which seems to repel dust satisfactorily. The portability of the printer is slightly compromised by the required addition of the external paper tray (supplied), which extends about 6 inches from the front - and you must remember to leave the same amount of space at the rear of the printer, as the printer paper makes four passes from front to rear before coming to a rest in the paper tray.

I bought two of these printers to use for making prints of my "photobooth" shots. It's a lot cheaper than the fast dye-sub printers, but it's a lot slower which is why I bought two.
I've used it at one event so far and it worked great! Prints came out a little darker than on the computer and I couldn't adjust print settings using the menu on the printer. It seems you can only do that when printing from a camera or a memory card.
Prints take about a minute, which isn't bad when you're doing one, but when you're doing it at a party and printing doubles, that time adds up!

I used it at a party and lets just say it was a money maker. If only it were a little faster I would have given it 5 stars. With that said I bought another one so the lines for the pics are not so long.

I bought this for a direct replacement for my Kodak EZ-Share printer that burned out. Way better quality than the Kodak one.

Comments about Canon SELPHY CP800 Compact Photo Printer (Black):
The Canon SELPHY CP800 Compact Photo Printer is the best printer I have had by far. It's so simple to use too. All you have to do is plug it in (if you didn't buy the battery pack) turn it on, insert your memory card or USB, and select the photos you want to print. Something really great about this printer is the quality of the photos. If you were going to CVS or Walmart before to have your pictures printed, this is the perfect solution for you. I would even say the quality is better. The only con to this printer, is that it is slightly noisy, which I find to be a turndown. But other than that, your search for photo printers had ended, this is the one.

Comments about Canon SELPHY CP800 Compact Photo Printer (Black):
I bought two of the Canon CP-800 to use because of their portability and reliability. Some people seem to think that theyre slow, however I find that while Im printing with one or both of them I have enough time to insert another memory card in my camera and insert the prints into folders for distribution to my clients or customers. I intend to buy one more to increase my capacity but I am very satisified with the CP-800. I have handled crowds of up to 300 people with just two of these printers at parties, weddings, and lounges. The print out colors, clarity, and performance of this printer are outstanding.

I'll be using this printer as an extra service to event & wedding customers. The test prints I've done so far surprised me with clarity and natural color.
I'm very happy with it. Print times seems to be about one minute (advertised as approx. 45sec.), but remember the Polaroid? That was about the same!I also like the fact that this printer is SMALL and easily portable. You can even order an optional battery for field work when an AC outlet isn't available.

I purchased this product to use in my entrepreneurship classes and at market events. Many of our students (elementary, middle school) use this printer to produce product on the spot for customers such as customized key chains, snow globes, framed candids, calendars, etc. The size, quality of the pictures, ease of use and the ability to edit photos right on the spot are invaluable. Changing paper and toner is a breeze and the students and customers are amazed by the four color application.

If you are starting to photograph events and offering on-site printing, this is a great printer. Very reliable, 45 second print time, paper and printing ribbon are packaged together so no second guessing, small/lightweight, and just a great overall product.

I am an event photographer and this model printer is good for on site photos. Prints quality photos from a memory card. The only knock I have on this is the time frame it takes to print. Approx 50 seconds per page. Other than that an excellent producet.

Perfect for that once a year friend and family BBQ. Print the group pics for the family as they leave, no down load, upload, send email list. Refills easy to find in local stores for on the goers.

So far the machine runs great. It is small enough to not take up much desk space, cheap enough to be comparable to prints you get in stores, and the pictures are of great quality. Overall I would say its a great machine.

This printer really surprised me. The photo quality is on par with any big-box photo processing, yet the unit is tiny and simple to use. The cartridge loads very easily and comes with the proper photo paper. You can print directly from your memory card or via the PC cable. The LCD screen allows you to view what you're about to print, and you can make basic adjustments like red eye reduction and cropping right on the unit without additional software.
This unit only prints 4x6 photos, but if that is what you are looking for, you won't be disappointed!

The product is very easy to use whether by computer or inserting a card to print out from.
I strongly recommend it. B&H was extremely helpful in purchasing this printer over the phone.
The person was very knowledgeable with its strong points. I personally haven't found anything wrong with it except the only place I can purchase the paper is by B&H.

This is a easy to use non-expiring printer. due to the several ways to use it. Even if you have a 1T SD card you can still printer pictures via any computer.

I did a ton of research on dye subs and was about to buck up $700 for a super fast sony dye sub for a portable printing station for my wedding photography business. Since the price was so incredible I thought it was worth a try. The ONLY down side is that it doesn't hold a large capacity of paper...but compared to the price difference, who cares! Added the optional battery to make it totally portable for on the spot wedding favors for my clients. Love it. [...]

This is a great little printer at a very reasonable cost. Although the cost per print is higher than those of the large chain store which I often use for non-professional prints, it's handy for making a few prints on the spot. The shadow detail from this printer seems to be better than the prints from the store prints. The only minor negative for me is that the 4x6 prints are slightly smaller than 4x6 ( about 3 and 15/16 by 5 and 7/8).
