The audio input level feature offers both manual and auto gain control, up to 64 levels, and a wind filter minimizes unwanted background noise. By pressing the Quick Control button, a simple graphic user interface for adjusting image quality, white balance, image creation and other settings appears on the LCD. The EOS 60D even lets users edit video in-camera: On-site or off, unnecessary scenes can be deleted and the start/end points of video footage can be designated via in-camera editing functions without the need of a separate computer
Video can be captured at a number of resolutions and frame rates for numerous applications. It can capture 1920 x 1080 Full HD video at frame rates of 30 (29.97 fps), 24 (23.976 fps) and 25 frames per second, for up to 4GB per clip. Video footage is saved as MOV files and can be viewed in Full HD through the EOS 60D DSLR's HDMI output. Other recording sizes include HD at 1280 x 720 (50/60 fps) or SD/VGA at 640 x 480 (50/60 fps) -24/30 fps delivers cinema-like motion, while 60 fps is perfect for footage being uploaded to video-sharing websites. The EOS 60D also has a built-in microphone for simple mono recording and stereo sound can be recorded through a self-powered external microphone. (1/8" mini jack)

I just bought this camera and I am enjoying it already. Its like a mini 7D. I love how the sensor handles noise. And all the advanced features you expect to be there are there with some extras. Now the XXD line gets an artistic twist with articulated screen, flash transmitter, on the go raw processing and fun filters all in a unique feel. And the price is great. I love that it takes SD cards because I have many and that is what I prefer. I can see this camera being a huge hit to students who are looking for a cross between video and still photos.
I also love that the top buttons have single functions rather than dual so you do not get confused of what your pressing and how to operated it quickly.
The only thing that so far bothers me about this camera is the lock button for the mode dial. I never use to accidently turn it, but now it makes it harder to change quickly. Everything else is great to me.

Mostly a collection of retread parts off the Rebel T2i. Same retread 18mp sensor, metering etc. High end metal body of previous "D" series replaced by toyish plastic body. Fine for amatuer use but not ready for the enthusiast/pro that a "D" designation would suggest. There is a reason that the 60D (at the time of my review)is already being blown out with rebates whereas the Nikon D7000 is out of stock everywhere.

Comments about Canon EOS 60D DSLR Camera (Body Only):
I decided to rent a 60D for an upcoming vacation. Was going to buy but decided to try it out first. The camera seems fine but the build quality seems very poor compared with my 7 year old 10D.
The rubber grip is loose in 2 spots and is almost completely off the camera by the shutter button

Comments about Canon EOS 60D DSLR Camera (Body Only):
Debated between this and the 7d, but am totally happy with everything it offers so far. It's hard to take a bad picture with this camera, even being a novice photographer. After only about a week there was an electrical error and the internal flash was not working and unable to take any photos in low light. Contacted B & H right away and they immediately shipped out an exchange, no questions asked.

Comments about Canon EOS 60D DSLR Camera (Body Only):
Being a novice photographer I found this camera to be the perfect choice between a professional grade camera and a basic digital SLR. The body is sturdy, the many options easy to understand yet complex enough for many years of creative use. I was able to use Canon Lenses that I already owned, so I bought the body only. I was replacing an original Digital Rebel (which is still working fine) but wanted a bigger LCD, video, and everything else that this new camera offered. Very satisfied.

Comments about Canon EOS 60D DSLR Camera (Body Only):
I was struggling on deciding between the Canon 60D and the 7D. I went with the 60D for price difference and am so happy I made that decision. I love my camera and it works like a charm. I did not think the video aspect would come in as much handy as it did. The 60D is great for travel and is lighter than the 7D. The camera is user friendly for those just starting out and those who have a part time career (like myself) with photography. I would recommend this to everyone!

Comments about Canon EOS 60D DSLR Camera (Body Only):
I bought this camera mostly for it's video function. Though it can't entirely replace a conventional video camera (I sold my HD camcorder to buy this one), with the right accessories and used correctly, it does a pretty good job. The ability to change lenses and the large sensor size make this a very affordable option for professional filmmakers. This camera is light and easy to bring around. Plus it has the added features of being able to take stills. The articulating screen, manual sound controls push the 60D above many other options. Make sure to budget for accessories, lenses and don't expect miracles.

Comments about Canon EOS 60D DSLR Camera (Body Only):
I purchased this model mostly for it's video capabilities over it's use for photography. I have previously owned a Canon 20D, 30D, 40D, & 5D. So video & the variable angle LCD were the biggest selling points for me. I've shot a lot of video with this in the past 2 weeks & I can honestly say that my only regret is not buying it sooner. The HD Video quality is amazing & having come from a Canon EOS photography background the transition into HD video was very easy.

Comments about Canon EOS 60D DSLR Camera (Body Only):
Excellent camera! I love the low light capabilities. Still putting it through its paces, but the results so far are extremely impressive. The 18 MP allows for great enlargements. I took a hand held shot of the moon using my 75-300 zoom, then cropped and enlarged the resulting image. The results were fantastic! Going out tomorrow to photograph hawks and eagles. The 5 fps will come in handy.

Comments about Canon EOS 60D DSLR Camera (Body Only):
I have had a T1i since its inception and was really pleased with it as a pseudo-professional camera. While I don't have the scratch to upgrade to the 5d or 1d, I chose the 60d as a camera with better ISO, FPS, and megapixels than my current setup.
I couldn't be happier. One surprise has been how much I use the articulated LCD. I thought it was going to be a bulk-adding nuisance, but I have found myself using it for lower shots way more than expected.

I had the canon t2i prior to purchasing this camera and loved it but wanted to upgrade! It was worth it! The body is so sturdy and incredible to use. I'm so pleased with this purchase and think it was a great upgrade to what I had. I also love the movable screen, it makes so nice to be able to toss it in your bag and not worry about the screen scratching!

I chose this over the 7D and haven't regretted my purchase to this day. Superior camera for video and pretty darn good for photos if you're not shooting sports or something that requires a ton of AF points and the high fps of the 7D. I also own a newer rebel and the 60D has plenty of features to justify the extra couple hundred bucks, including dedicated video settings, wireless flash control, more ISO options, etc. Having the pop out screen opens a ton of doors for photography and video, too. If you're shooting video and can't afford the new 1D X or 5Dmkii, this is your best bet.
