Well suited for media professionals who work with large video or image files and transfer large amounts of data, this data tape deck features internal hard disk storage of 4TB that can be configured in an RAID 0 or 1. It also utilizes a QuadCore Processor and 4GB of RAM. This built-in hardware allows you to organize your content, stage items for archiving, or even use the Pro-Cache5 for general NAS applications. Plus, this unit holds and includes an LTO-5 tape with a native capacity of 1.5TB. The tape is directly accessible, "tar" compatible for working in any other LTO-5 data tape drive, and features an archival life of 30 years. When using LTO-5 tapes, this data tape deck allows you to archive data across multiple tapes, schedule automated archive times, and search content on your tapes.
Designed to be flexible, this data tape deck can connect to your network via one of two Gigabit Ethernet ports and can work with a multitude of file systems, whether your computer is running UNIX, Linux, Windows, or Mac operating systems. When connected to your network, this tape deck supports FTP, Samba, NFS, AFP, and Bonjour servers.
For attaching additional devices, especially external storage, this data tape deck features USB, eSATA, and SAS connections. It also features an ExpressCard 34/54 slot to give you even more expansion options, such as a FireWire 800 card. You can manage this tape deck via a convenient web-based interface. However, you can also directly monitor the unit and review its content, as it includes a VGA monitor port, a 9-Pin serial port, as well as PS/2 mouse and keyboard ports.
