Maybe you've decided to join the social media revolution - or perhaps you're already knee deep in Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter and you're scoping out gift ideas - whatever the case may be, you've found yourself here, reading about Sony's MHS-TS20 8GB Bloggie Touch Camera. The 8GB Bloggie is the highest capacity pocket cam offering from the famed electronics company for 2010. And much like its 4GB sibling, the 8GB offers up a number of features.
The 8GB Bloggie Touch records up to 4 hours of high def video to its internal flash memory. But, in addition to recording HD video, the Bloggie as does double duty as a 12.8MP digital still camera. No matter which format you go with though, still or video, the camera utilizes a generous 3" touch screen, which rotates automatically, for composition and review of your files.
Diverging somewhat from an ultra-simple operation concept, the Bloggie Touch employees a couple features normally found on more feature-heavy consumer camcorders: SteadyShot image stabilization and face detection. Other useful features include 4x digital zoom and macro shooting, the ability to tag videos and stills for uploading to social networking sites, and a built-in rechargeable battery that can be powered back up via USB.
When you're done shooting, and ready to share what you've shot, the Bloggie Touch just needs to be connected to your compatible PC via the flip-out USB arm. The pre-loaded software automatically starts up once the camera is connected, allowing you to edit and share your videos and photos with ease. When you feel like sharing what you've shot in the big screen, just connect the Bloggie to your HDTV via the HDMI.

I need to get one thing out of the way. The first one i got was a dud. I plugged in the computer, imported videos, ejected it, and it wouldnt turn on. But thanks to [...] a replacement i can over look that fact. This is a really nice camera. It's portable, sleek and just a rly good looking camera. It takes pictures in 720 or 1080 and the picture quality is rly rly good. ALso the video camerqa quality is nice too. I like that if you hold it in portrait or landscape, it will automatically ajust to how your holding it.It is extremley easy to download the software and import photos/videos to the computer. My main problem with this though, is that the touch screen couldve been much better, it does its job for the most part but it can be extremley un-responsive when your making finger motions, for example: scroll from picture to picture and what not. If your looking for cameras you'd take on a vacations or bigger events, this is not the camera for you. Overall this is a great camera if you just want to record little trips or make blogs, record birthday parties, document you and your friends etc.

It's a real pocket camera, the touch screen works fine but can't challenge iPhone one. Easy to plug to the PC and great image with day light

Handy and easy to use and download pictures. Quality is pretty good when using a tripod for church services. Sound is fair, but adequate for inside work.

Comments about Sony MHS-TS20 8GB Bloggie Touch Camera (Silver):
The name Bloggie is very appropriate. This is cool for carrying around town and posting on FB. You can drop it right in your shirt pocket. It takes a lot of high quality video. Battery is good. But I'm very frustrated with my Costa Rican videos. Number 1 - did they tell you not to hold it vertically. If you do, all your videos will be 1/3 the size of your computer / TV screen. I found out after my trip to turn it, horizontally, then wait for it to orientate, then press play. It will fill your whole screen. Too late now. Number 2, if there's no contrast and your shooting a monkey in a tree, good luck finding him. I have lots of video with trees, but the monkey wasn't in it. That margin of error goes way up when you zoom. Don't zoom unless you're absolutely sure you can see your target. No 3 - every time you press play stop that's a new file. I'm trying to stitch 50 different files, which doesn't work well on a Mac. Great social camera. Poor vacation camera.

I bought this bloggie camera for my wife; she liked it for the following reason: easy to use, small size to drop in her purse, and great pictures. I wish that Sony adds another option of external SD card.

This unit was bought at the last moment before Xmas and B&H made everything happen smoothly, taking the worries away about receiving it on time. The unit so far has been used in photo mode by a "non-techie" person. The ease of operation has created a can-do attitude. No instruction of the controls was necessary. The photos are crisp, and the review/discard/save functions very easy for them. A great value, and Sony reliability make this a sure hit.

Have a Flip Mino HD which produced great video, but was a pain to get still photos from! (required extraction via software on the computer).
The Sony Bloggie Touch has all the best tools built right into the camera which makes it easy to post video AND still photos online in a snap. This is THE camera to buy if your main focus is uploading to youtube, facebook, etc.

Bought this camera for the wife to video the kids. The 12.8 mp stills interested me. Great pictures in low light, no red eye and doggy green eye due to it not having a flash. She can't pry it away from me. It's simple to operate, small and easy to carry. Although small, big fingers can operate it. Works fine on Macs on iphoto and imovie, but the software for all the cameras features is still not available specifically for Mac.
