Aquatica T2i Underwater Housing for Canon T2i (550D)

The Aquatica T2i Underwater Housing is designed for the Canon T2i (550D) digital SLR camera. This form fitting housing is machined from a solid block of aluminum; reducing weight and housing size. The housing is anodized and coated with a powder coating and baked for a robust weather and wear resistant external finish. The housing might be light but it is rated down to 300'. The control buttons have their functions permanently printed on them, so they will not peel off.

The Aquatica T2i housing features a retractable focus/zoom gear knob, pulling out this cleverly designed control clears the path for smoothly installing and removing the camera/ lens assembly even when a zoom or focus gear is attached to the lens. This allows for easy replacement of batteries, cards or lenses.

The housing includes two options for connecting your strobes. You have a traditional single Nikonos manual bulkhead connector. You can connect 2 strobes to this with a dual (Y) sync cord. You also have a single optical cable connector. Just pop up the camera's built-in flash to use Sea & Sea or Inon underwater strobes with fiber optic cables. Use the included Sea & Sea adapter to attach a single Sea & Sea fiber optic cable, or use the included Inon adapter to attach two Inon fiber optic cables to the single port. There is even a push button on the housing to release the flash in the up position. Never lose images again because you forgot to pop up the internal flash. There is also a lever to shut down the internal flash, this allows you to quickly shoot ambient light images and easily returns to flash photography at the push of a button.

The Aquatica T2i housing features easy access to the vital video function controls while retaining its ease of operation for still imaging. All vital controls for both imaging modes have been moved to easily accessible and comfortable locations on the housing. You can even attach the optional hydrophone for quality sound.

The most critical aspect of underwater SLR photography is the viewing system. The Aquatica T2i has a viewfinder that shows a big and bright image. For the ultimate in viewing the optional Aqua View Finder is available for precise focusing and exact composition.

Positive four point bayonet mounting and a locking mechanism leave no doubt that your ports are securely in place and water tight. The bayonet system dome, macro ports and extension rings, offer the fastest and most comprehensive access to the lenses for rapid changing without having to remove the camera from the housing. This housing allows use of lenses from a 10mm/180 degrees fisheye lens to a 200mm macro lens. Teleconverter port extensions are also available. Remote control cords and other accessories are also available so the Aquatica T2i will meet the needs of the most demanding underwater imaging artist.
