The perfect companion for workouts, daily jogs, and morning commutes, the 4th-Generation Apple iPod shuffle provides you with high-quality music in a compact and lightweight design. The shuffle has 2GB of reliable flash memory housed in a minuscule and colorful aluminum body. The strong integrated clip attaches to your clothes so that it stays with you at all times, even during long runs.
The large circular control panel makes it easy to play/pause, skip tracks, and adjust volume by feel. A convenient sliding switch lets you choose between playing playlists and Genius Mixes in order or in shuffle mode. A dedicated VoiceOver button lets you hear the current song title, playlist name, or battery status in one of 25 available languages with a single touch. The 3.5mm jack lets you connect the included stereo earbuds, as well as the specialized USB charging cable. The built-in lithium-ion battery provides up to 15 hours of audio playback and charges in approximately 3 hours.

My son had resisted getting an i-Pod for a long time, but did not like the music at the gym he attends. This tiny iPod shuffle holds many hours of music, and for his purposes, there is no need for any function beyond the ones offered.
The sound is great, it is easy to use and so light you hardly know it is there. The sound quality is excellent and I would recommend this to anyone.

I am a 48 year old mom/grandma who just wanted a music player to use while I work out at the Y. I didn't need anything fancy and this little number did the trick. Purchased the iPod shuffle to replace an older shuffle unit ahead of a major relay race. I couldn't be happier with the purchase, save for a small annoyance with the voice-over button. The device is convenient and securely clips onto a belt buckle or shorts and is extremely comfortable to wear on very long runs. I actually now use it on my commute to work in addition to runs.
As noted above, the one grievance (knocked off a star) is the button for the voice-over. Its a big improvement over the old model in that I can hear how much battery is left, but I have a lot of trouble accessing that part of the menu.
Not a big enough deal though to dissuade anyone from buying. Definitely a worthwhile purchase.

I bought this shuffle to replace an old one I accidentally washed in my workout shorts. I was bummed I had to replace it, but honestly, the new model is even smaller and easier to use. It has additional features that allow for voice control. The only down side is the sync. cord. It's only 2 inches long. I don't know why they made it so short. Other than that I'm very pleased.
