Apple's popular 32GB iPod touch now reaches its 4th generation, offering an incredible iPod, video camera, pocket computer, and portable game player all in a single sleek unit with exceptional battery life. The iPod touch offers the same powerful A4 processor as the iPhone 4, as well as the stunning Retina Display with a Multi-Touch interface, which allows you to use your fingers to control all aspects of the iPod.
The touch has front and rear cameras for taking photos and videos, as well as having live video chats over WiFi with FaceTime. The internal accelerometer and 3-axis gyroscope provide more motion gestures and terrific precision for an amazing gaming experience, which can be combined with the Game Center feature of iOS 5 to play against your friends. The touch also connects to the App Store and iTunes, offers multitasking, allows you to connect to the Internet, check email, and much more.

The 4th generation of iPod does it all! We are using it primarily at home through our wireless router for Skype audio communication. It is a pity that we cannot use the cameras of iPod in Skype or any other platform except the Apple's "Face Time". The device is easy to setup and the display is bright and clear specially for indoor applications. iTune installation requirement for iPod, to me, is a major drawback of Apple's mobile devices, in particular when you are not using Apple's operational system. The iTune software and drivers for example are not optimized for MS windows operating systems (OS). I had driver conflicts with XP and Windows7 after iTune installation. Admittedly you can't be optimal in all frontiers. A savvy user can disable some of the start-up services and features of iTune after the installation on other OS to limit the performance loss. In general it is a reliable product for browsing, voice communication, and music.

The retina display is great but unfortunately the new iPod Touch does NOT have the same 5MP camera as the iPhone. It has a 480x320 pixel front camera (VGA) and the rear camera is less than 1 megapixel (960 x 720 pixels which is .7 to be exact).
So, this looks to be a great product unless you, like me, really wanted a decent camera in it. It is beyond me why Apple purposely put a low resolution camera (with no flash) in an otherwise excellent product. I guess they were concerned it would impact sales of the iPhone if it were too nice. Also, the new photo apps like HDR that Steve Jobs demonstrated will only work w/ the iPhone, not this iPod touch.

Comments about Apple 32GB iPod touch (4th Generation):
I needed an MP3 player with Bluetooth that could hold a good battery charge...the older one I have was pretty good to start with, but even with a brand-new battery just doesn't last any more. (Go figure.) I'm pretty happy with my first iPod's tone quality (and that comment comes from a well trained vocal musician). I was delighted to learn I didn't have to buy a dock to get music on speakers...just a cable to AUX input on my stereo or car radio. Setup was not a total breeze...my music was all messed up with gaps in it, and I had to reset the unit and start the sync over (and not do anything else on the computer while sync-ing). What I really don't like is that I can't augment the memory with a microSD card, like I can on my phone. We'll see about its overall battery life...

Comments about Apple 32GB iPod touch (4th Generation):
I love this device! I've used it as a pseudo-phone over wi-fi, I've made some really good quality videos, and documented a whole vacation with my iPod! The front/rear cameras is a nice touch. As soon as I got this iPod I upgraded to the latest iOS and glad I did. The only complaint I have has to do with Apple, not the device. There will always be problems with that beast, iTunes. Thank goodness for alternatives. Like I said I am 100% satisfied!

I upgraded from the original itouch which I had for 4 years, and now another family member uses it! I upgraded for my side business (musician) to record rehearsals. Great for travel - all your contacts, click on an address and instant GPS, show family I visit all our photos; favorite tunes without the commercials, discreetly check my email at work. I love learning so download apps to stay fresh with a foreign language or keep recipies handy. This works cheaper than having an iphone and I use a basic cell phone.

if you have used apples products before then you what the iPod is about. But if not, then an ipod touch bring you so much. it brings you apps for just about anything you can think of, games, movies, music, camera and photo storage, and browsing the internet ( a little hard on such a small screen). So much fun entertainment, and convenience in a small package.

Comments about Apple 32GB iPod touch (4th Generation):
Even a Grandma can easily learn to use iTunes and this iPod. Since it's a iPod Touch - there's more it can do with it's wiFi connection than a plain iPod. The on-screen keyboard is a bit challenging to get used to; I find a stylus is helpful for this. Overall - I like it. Connected to a iHome portable mini speaker the sound is VERY good - amazing, in fact.

So far, I have downloaded about 5 discs of Irish music, and play the iPod with earphones as I take a daily walk for exercise. I have also listened to the music as I catch a few rays by the pool.
For shame! An owner's manual should have come with it. I printed out the 141 page owner's manual from the Apple website.

Comments about Apple 32GB iPod touch (4th Generation):
I work outside a lot and in places where there is poor or no radio reception. I usually work alone so I can listen to music or programs that I like. Ipod touch allows me to download a huge variety of programs, podcasts and music. I previously owned a 8gb model and sent it to a relative when I got the new one. I bought the 32 gb model for the added storage and the cameras. I don't often get to a wifi spot but when I do I can use the full range of tools this has to offer and now I can text or facetime when I am connected. I am not a big data user so this is perfect for me since I can use free wifi. It is one of the most useful devices I own. My old one was still in good shape after 2 yrs. of moderate - heavy use and still going strong so I expect this one to last as long or longer. Trouble free and easy to use too!!
