The 4th generation of iPod does it all! We are using it primarily at home through our wireless router for Skype audio communication. It is a pity that we cannot use the cameras of iPod in Skype or any other platform except the Apple's "Face Time". The device is easy to setup and the display is bright and clear specially for indoor applications. iTune installation requirement for iPod, to me, is a major drawback of Apple's mobile devices, in particular when you are not using Apple's operational system. The iTune software and drivers for example are not optimized for MS windows operating systems (OS). I had driver conflicts with XP and Windows7 after iTune installation. Admittedly you can't be optimal in all frontiers. A savvy user can disable some of the start-up services and features of iTune after the installation on other OS to limit the performance loss. In general it is a reliable product for browsing, voice communication, and music.

The retina display is great but unfortunately the new iPod Touch does NOT have the same 5MP camera as the iPhone. It has a 480x320 pixel front camera (VGA) and the rear camera is less than 1 megapixel (960 x 720 pixels which is .7 to be exact).
So, this looks to be a great product unless you, like me, really wanted a decent camera in it. It is beyond me why Apple purposely put a low resolution camera (with no flash) in an otherwise excellent product. I guess they were concerned it would impact sales of the iPhone if it were too nice. Also, the new photo apps like HDR that Steve Jobs demonstrated will only work w/ the iPhone, not this iPod touch.

Just recieved my first IPod. Within the first five minutes I had already scratched the back. I know it is only cosmetic but very disapointing.
Other than that, it is easy to use and learn the to navigate. Has more things to play with than I'll ever use. Sounds good with Apple headphones but much better with upgraded earbuds.
Would recommend it to anyone who is not able to use the IPhone.

This was a replacement for a 2nd generation iTouch. The added storage and faster processing time alone makes this a nice upgrade. There are plenty of critics over the quality of the camera, I don't see that as a neg since I don't use these devices (or any other camera enabled phone) for taking photos anyway. So if you're looking for an upgrade from a previous gen iTouch, this will be good move.

The Ipod Touch cannot be beat. With the added camera on the 4th gen model, you can video chat to another on the Touch. Plus, the 32gb means you never run out of room for music and videos. I use mine as a PDA. Links to my work email and I can surf where I have a WIFI connection.

When turning it on it starts off slowly (reason I am only giving 4 starts out of five). Also, the battery drains very quickly. other than that the graphics are amazing. Runs very smoothly and aps download very quickly.
