Apple's popular 8GB iPod touch now reaches its 4th generation, offering an incredible iPod, video camera, pocket computer, and portable game player all in a single sleek unit with exceptional battery life. The iPod touch offers the same powerful A4 processor as the iPhone 4, as well as the stunning Retina Display with a Multi-Touch interface, which allows you to use your fingers to control all aspects of the iPod.
The touch has front and rear cameras for taking photos and videos, as well as having live video chats over WiFi with FaceTime. The internal accelerometer and 3-axis gyroscope provide more motion gestures and terrific precision for an amazing gaming experience, which can be combined with the Game Center feature of iOS 5 to play against your friends. The touch also connects to the App Store and iTunes, offers multitasking, allows you to connect to the Internet, check email, and much more.

I was basically looking for mobile entertainment device, that can surf the web, easy access to my emails, listen to music, play games. I found the ipod touch suitable fit. Though most of the smartphones have this capability nowadays, i was not willing to cash out $30 extra per month for data plan. so i decided to buy this device. Some of the outstanding things are
- screen is awesome, clear, high resolution
- user interface very friendly and intuitive
- most of the apps allows quick and better way of doing things compare to opening in website separately
- tons of cheap games. I installed real soccer 2011 and NBA 2011 for $0.99 each.
- initially i was sceptic about typing in touchscreen but after typing few days, it was very easy and accurate.
Some of the things i didn't like which may be specific to my experience and not ipod touch in general.
- while browsing internet, websites were loading slowly. while watching music videos, they were buffering a lot. I have 5MBps internet broadband from cable one.
- I have heard of long battery life about this device, but for me it didn't last long. I know playing NBA/ soccer games on ipod touch might have accelerated the battery drainage, but still i had to recharge after playing 1-2 hrs.
- head phone that comes with this device could have been better
Overall great product for mobile entertainment. Definitely recommend for those without smartphones.

The iPod Touch (4th generation) is an excellent product -- if everything works, that is. In my case, the camera fails to work out of the box, and Apple refuses to repair it under warranty, claiming the iPod has suffered liquid damages! On the bright side, everything else seems to work fine. Details:After receiving the item, I unpacked it and set it up with my computer, including an update to iOS 4.2. Then I tested various functions. All seemed to work well except for the camera app. Upon entering the app, an image of a camera shutter appeared, but the shutter would not open and nothing in the app responded. The only thing that could be done was returning to the home screen.Apple did have a very responsive technical support via telephone. After restoring the iPod Touch per the adviser's direction and failing to resolve the Camera problem, I sent it in via UPS for warranty service per an Apple adviser's direction.A few days later, the iPod was returned without having been repaired because Apple had determined the iPod had suffered liquid damages based on its Liquid Contact Indicator [@]. I could not believe it because it was a new iPod Touch and I know it had not been in contact with liquid! At least Apple didn't charge for the diagnostic and shipping. So now I am stuck with an iPod Touch with a defective camera. Buyer beware!Tip: If possible at all, go to an Apple Store for warranty service instead of mailing in. You might have better luck.

Comments about Apple 8GB iPod touch (4th Generation):
For a PC user, and not a MAC user, it was difficult at first to get it to work. But with the help of Apple customer service (you have 90 days of free service)I was able to download my music and then get my WiFi working. All-in-all, probably the best "MP3" player which is all I wanted it for. All the apps are nice but not really needed by me.

This product is very simple to use. Pressing the apps 1 time cuts to the chase. I'm very reluctant in purchasing electronics once they are brand spanking new. I like to wait for the kinks to be worked out. This product is well worth the wait.

I use my ipod as a pocket computer and media device. It is fun an intuitive. If I could improve one thing, it would be battery life. However, be careful with what personal information you store on it. Your life will be an open book to Apple and App developers if you store personal information on this device. Apple's privacy policies are weak despite what they claim. No information that you store on this device is private.

I brought this item as a birthday gift for my daughter. She LOVES her iPod and spends hours downloading music and video chatting with her girl friends. I like it so much that I just may purchase one for myself. I would reccomend getting the vesrion with 16g memory if you plan to upload a lot of music and pics. Highly recommended!

Does what it's supposed to but it seems like I have to recharge it pretty often
If you use a lot of apps and video you'll wish you had gotten a 16 or 32 gig instead of the entry level 8 gig

Comments about Apple 8GB iPod touch (4th Generation):
I had given my active mom a little MP3 player a few years ago to use at the gym. I have been wanting to upgrade her, but she insisted it was fine. She's never had a good camera and asked me to look at one at [@]. She also likes playing games on the computer - mahjong online. So, I purchased the iPod touch for her 80th birthday. She opened it before we went to dinner and we had a blast with it. I still need to get her router hooked up, but I did get iTunes installed. I know she loves it! Probably the best gift I could've given to her!
