The Sony NIPROS/V26 Multi Core Studio System is designed to configure ENG shoulder-mount camcorders, such as the HVR-S270U, for shooting in a broadcast studio environment. With the included base station unit, camera interface unit, 8.9" color LCD, and 2 intercom headsets, the NIPROS/V26 system gives the HVR-S270U shooter the option of easily converting an ENG rig to one with complete studio functionality. Crucial professional interfaces such as return video, tally out, return monitor output, audio level metering, and a host of inputs and outputs make this an affordable alternative for occasional studio use or as a 'B' camera or emergency backup.

The NIPROS DS-460 CCZ Multi Core Camera Interface Unit is mounted to the back of an HVR-S270U and supplies the following interfaces to the camcorder:
- HD/SD component input from camera/auto detecting
- RET video (composite or HD-Y) output to LVM-89W
- TALLY out
- Aux (selectable from video output or T/C input)
- Return monitor output (composite with power) to LVM-89W
