The Western Digital 250GB WD Scorpio Blue SATA 2.5" Hard Drive features ample storage, quiet operation and low power consumption. With a 250GB storage capacity, SATA interface and transfer speeds up to 3 Gb/s, it's ideal for demanding mobile applications that require high performance.
The Scorpio Blue benefits from ShockGuard technology that protects the drive mechanics from shocks. It also uses SecurePark, which prevents the recording heads from resting on the disk during spin up, spin down, and when the drive is off. This results in a more reliable drive due to the limited head wear. The Scorpio Blue is also tested rigorously to ensure compatibility with most systems.

This Hard Drive is working fine so far. The Hard Drive on my HP laptop has stopped working after a year, so I want to see how long this Western Digital will last.
Notice: There is no instruction on how to install the Hard Drive or how to reload the OS. Please research for instructions on youtube before starting the replacement process.

Comments about Western Digital 250GB WD Scorpio Blue SATA 2.5" Hard Drive:
When my macbook harddrive died I thought I was going to have to spend lots of money to have tekserve or apple replace it and restore my data. I went to B&H[...]. The WD Scorpio Blue SATA 2.5" drive was easy to install and had my computer up and running soon after the installation. The drive is quiet, and has ample storage space. So far I'm very happy with this upgrade.

Comments about Western Digital 250GB WD Scorpio Blue SATA 2.5" Hard Drive:
I like the Scorpio Blue drives, as they have proven to be very reliable for the past few years I have used them. Even when the enclosures failed and the drive started clicking and acting crazy, I just put the the drive in a new enclosure, and I was back in business. The 2.5" drives are as silent as you can imagine, and almost vibration free.

I used this to replace my original laptop hardrive. I have a Compaq running Win Vista and it totally stopped. I ran out of warranty a year ago, but had the sense to clone my drive as soon as I got my machine. I removed my old drive installed the new drive, ran my clone software and I am back on line! I did have to make the partitions first, and install the driver for the hard drive. Vista had to make the repair, but it works.

Comments about Western Digital 250GB WD Scorpio Blue SATA 2.5" Hard Drive:
The drives seem to work fine. I did have one with a faulty cable. The cable connection on the drive is not standard therefore making it difficult to replace. Haven't had them long enough to determine longevity. I like the size and the drives and would purchase them again.
