Although light, it's plastic-y. And although it has a good range, it extends awkwardly from the body.

If you like fine telephoto performance in a compact lens compatible with the Olympus Pen series, this is a good choice. The resolution is high with my E-PL1 model. The one drawback is that it's considerably higher priced than comparable non-compact lenses. The current price is [$].

Very good image quality, a must have lens for your Olympus pen camera. Build quality is also very good. Although it is a plastic body, it still feels solid. By the way,the focusing is really quite.

This is an extra sharp tele zoom that goes out to 300 mm. I love everything about it except for one thing. While it is small when in the 40 (80) mode, it seems enormous in the 150 (300) mode. [...]. But it is fast, sharp and well worth the money.

Comments about Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm f/4.0-5.6 Lens (Silver):
This is a terrific value for the money. Images are tack-sharp. Only pixel-peepers should find fault. Build quality is solid, despite being platic throughout. Unlike their 14-42, there is no detectible wobble in the barrel when extended. No lens creep at all, and zooming is smooth, if a little stiff.
It is a compact unit, but on a body such as the E-P1 may seem to defeat it's compactness somewhat. Even then, its' light weight doesn't throw off the balance of the camera. Having a common 58ø filter is also a plus. Highly recommended.

Extremely compact and light, decent build quality. I'm not too worried about the plastic mount, never had issues with other plastic mount lenses. Needs a lens hood, too bad Olympus doesn't include it. Picutre quality seems very good, will do more testing for myself but samples from others available online seem excellent.

The Olympus 40-150mm f4-5.6 M Zuiko lens is a very useful focal length. I'm using this on the EPL2. Surprisingly it focuses very quickly. The lense hood is separate and getting the exact one for this lens is a must. With the one made specifically for this lense you can reverse mount the hood for keeping on the camera and storing it with it on.It twist mounts on the lens which I like. Also it takes 58mm filters which are readily available. Another surprise, it is consistently sharp with very nice images. The barrel is plastic but looks quite unique with its silver body. A must have for micro 4-3rds system.
