I love these Hard Drives. This is my 3rd that has gone into my Drobo. Very fast drives and have not had a failure yet (not that that would be an issue as western digital has a fantastic warranty policy and Drobo keeps me protected). One thing i will note is that they are not quiet by any means. You WILL hear them working hard if they are close to your work space. But thats a good thing as far as i am concerned. Also- B&H has mis-labeled this item. This model is the current 64mb cash, not the previous 32mb cache like is listed. took me a lot of phone calls and finally ordering it to figure it out, as the model numbers did not match up to the 32mb cache listed on WD's site.
All and all, Perfect for what i need it for. I very often work directly off these drives from my Drobo and never have any issues.

I use these drives in a Drobo, which is the primary backup storage for my photographs. I have 4 WD Caviar drives in the Drobo, which is a Raid type of backup array. One of the 3 WD Caviar Black 2TB drives died immediately after installation. The drives can be noisy and I don't feel confident in their reliability. I have not had problems with the 1TB Caviar Black drives.

This was an expansion drive for an audio recording machine. I had previously tried to upgrade using a similar Seagate drive from Staples, but that didn't go too well and it had to be returned. After regrouping with this drive I was done with the upgrade in moments, and it has been working well.

I purchased 3 of these drives for my MacPro because I do a lot of video and photo editing. I was running out of space on my external raid and needed more space.
Right now, anyone in the hard drive-buying arena already knows that recent flood in Thailand has had a huge impact on global hard drive production. One set back I experienced was that all major vendors limit one hard drive purchase per customer. Despite being forced to pay three separate prices through three separate vendors, B&H obviously being one of them, I am very happy with the drives. So far they are performing well and I have noticed a dramatic increase on speed.
After having trouble with a few of my LaCie drives, I will definitely now be recommending this drive to all my friends and co-workers.

This drive which was supposed to be the 32mb sata3 version is actually model number WD2002FAEX, which is the 64mb sata6 version of the drive. First time I ordered from B&H and I expect to be a return customer. Got the drive in 3 days. Fast drive and 5 year warranty. No complaints, highly recommended.

Most important!! According to a report that I heard on TV, parts of Western Digital products are made by people that are in slavery. This is not acceptable. I would be looking into other manufactures for future purchases including retailers.

Quality drive with 5 yr warranty. Used for Home Server/NAS in RAID 0.
Retail version only includes mounting screws. WD no longer provides SATA cable or even drive pin jumpers. I'm going to E-mail WD and explain to them the difference between "Retail" and "OEM".

I picked up 4 of these for my FirmTek RAID system that I use on a 12 Core MAC for HD video. My AJA test program shows they have a transfer speeds of 500+ MB/sec using a 2K file on DVCPROHD with almost no dropped frames. These drives are very fast. And after capturing, I don't show dropped frames. Time will tell if they crash...or as we all know "when" they crash. But for now they work like a champ.

Fantastic product: was a breeze to install and get up and running as my primary storage for photos/video going into Lightroom. On my Mac, installation was almost "too easy" I thought I was missiing something but it was ready to go after putting it in the machine. HOWEVER - NOTE: I needed to get an updated version of the "WD Anywhere Backup" program from the version provided on the CD - this wasn't too difficult to find on the website (the "WD Anywhere Backup" is purely an extra program and IS NOT necessary for use of the drive on its own).
