Comments about Roland FP-7F Digital Piano (Black):
I have the black one, however if it fits with your furniture the white one is best. This digital piano would fit anybody who wants to feel the piano action (a hummer hitting a string) in their fingers – beginner intermediate or advanced. Also it is the cheapest stage piano by Rolland that has both progressive hammer action three and onboard speakers. The interface is pretty much straight forward (unlike Yamaha) if you have ever used a digital piano or a keyboard arranger – all the features are right there. The only thing is that it doesn't have the onboard CD player, but who cares about that, must people use USB flash drives anyway.. I don't recommend buying the stand – it's quite pointless and why pay so much for it, when you could get a double heavy duty keyboard stand for a fourth or fifth of the price.

Comments about Roland FP-7F Digital Piano (Black):
I owned a very basic YAMAHA keyboard a long time ago, and had learned to play a little using books and online resources. However, I still consider myself a beginner, so I'm not sure if I have enough experience with a variety of instruments to review this product, but I'll share some thoughts.
After doing some research (reading/watching review, listening to the sounds, and comparing features/specs) it appeared that Roland digital pianos have a better/action (compared to YAMAHAs at a similar range) Plus, the combination of features on this product seemed perfect, while I couldn't find a YAMAHA model that had the combination of all features/qualities that I cared for (each one had something missing or didn't have the kind of look/form factor I was looking for)
That's how I narrowed my choices to FP-4, FP-7, FP-4F, and FP-7F. In terms of price and how much I wanted to spend I was going back and forth between these for a while. But luckily I found a good deal on the FP-7F (cheaper than FP-4F) and decided to go for it.
Regarding appearance, I should mention that it was also a factor in my decision since I wanted to be able to put it in my living room as well (which I do right now), so I was interested in something that was simple and elegant, and had a piano look and feel. And I must say that with the matching custom stand it looks awesome!
