The OCTA-CAPTURE UA-1010 from Roland is a high-speed USB 2.0 audio interface that features 10 inputs, 10 outputs, 8 VS PREAMPS, and 24-bit/192 kHz audio quality. Designed for high-level audio production, it combines premium components, quality engineering, along with proprietary preamp and streaming technology.
An Auto Sensing function automatically sets the recording level of each input to the best setting after analyzing the audio input during a specified interval of time. A software compressor is available per channel, and a reverb processor can be accessed by individual channel sends.
With its compact design and pristine audio quality, the unit is not only the perfect interface for multi-channel computer-based production, but also a great solution for expanding the I/O capability of the V-STUDIO 700 and V-STUDIO 100. The interface includes production software from Cakewalk.

Comments about Roland OCTA-CAPTURE UA-1010 - High Speed USB Audio Interface:
Good multichannel input interface for acoustic measurement and sound system testing. Good multichannel output/playback interface for laboratory or presentation use. AISO drivers & control panel work very well and integrate with DAW software under Windows 7 64-bit. "Direct mixer" and virtual patch panel features are very powerful, but not well documented in the manual. Allow extra time to configure and test this device! Front-panel controls can adjust all parameters, but are typically cumbersome; use the software control panel instead.

Comments about Roland OCTA-CAPTURE UA-1010 - High Speed USB Audio Interface:
I am using this interface for audio in and out for recording and home entertainment.
The Octa-Capture was the easiest piece of audio hardware I have ever installed. The drivers seem very stable. I am playing software synths at very low latency and recording input from condenser and dynamic mics, plus a keyboard and guitar. I am routing the outputs to monitor speakers, headphones and amps. This was all very easy to setup in the hardware, on the included mixer program and in my DAW program.
The preamps are clean and have plenty of gain, even for my SM-57 that usually needs an extra boost in my experience.
