The Multi-Card 24-in-1 USB Reader from Lexar is a simple, effective and reasonably-priced way to handle 24 different card formats for file transfers. The plug-and-play design is simple to use with no external power source required. The unit opens with a simple "one-push", pop open design. Connect the included USB cable to your computer, place the memory card in the appropriate slot and you're ready to go.
The unit is equipped with LEDs that indicate the status of your progress. When they're off, no card is in place. When they go on, you know a card is in the unit. When the LEDs blink, the transfer in taking place. And, when they stop, you'll know the transfer is complete. It's that easy. Best of all, this small and compact device can handle concurrent transfers from multiple cards saving you time sitting in front of your computer while giving you more time for either post-production work or getting back out in the field to shoot again.

You may wonder why you need a 24 in 1 card reader? Well I just got a new camera that uses a different card. Or a friend just came over with a camera that uses a third different type of memory stick. This is a compact card reader which is white and matches my mac mini. Has a very long usb cord and the entire unit takes up very little desk space. what would have been great though was if it uses one of your few usb ports, they did not add it to the card reader to make up for the lose.

Use this mostly just for CF cards, and it does well reading.
Not a big fan of the pop up feature. I'm sure it's there to protect things from going into the reader while it's not in use. My concern is that when the card is in use, if any weight or pressure is put on the reader it could cause stress or even break the card. Just something to consider.

Discovered our ancient card reader couldn't handle SDHC cards, so this was a replacement/upgrade.

Comments about Lexar Multi-Card 24-in-1 USB Reader (Glossy White):
I don't have more than 3 types of cards I use regularly but with this gadget I can be assured of card compatibility in the foreseeable future. I've read about the problem where if you have a card inserted and happen to have something heavy rest atop the unit, there's a chance of damaging your card or the unit itself. I don't see this possibility unless probably if you FORCE the lid down which no one would. And it is constructed so that it takes quite a bit to force it down unintentionally. I am happy with its size and the length of the cord. Plus the price is very reasonable unlike a competitor's whose product I purchased a while back.

Took a little getting used to -- had never used one before. But boy does it make life easier. I use it to easily get files I've just shot onto my computer to edit ...

Comments about Lexar Multi-Card 24-in-1 USB Reader (Glossy White):
I needed a card reader that downloaded from different sized memory cards and this fit the bill very nicely. This device loads into my IMac easily and with no fuss. I'm not sure how this one compares speedwise with other more expensive card readers, but this one is plenty fast. Get one and it won't disappoint.

Comments about Lexar Multi-Card 24-in-1 USB Reader (Glossy White):
My previous card reader broke so I went online and found this one. Since card readers are quite similar, I chose this one because of the pop open design. Since my last one broke due to a bent pin, I thought this new design would help prevent objects from accidentally falling into the slots when not in use.

This is a nice little device to have, I only wish they made it with a faster connection, such as Firewire because I download large files from chips.

Comments about Lexar Multi-Card 24-in-1 USB Reader (Glossy White):
Lexar multi-card reader is very easy to use. I've used it with several different types of memory cards, and it worked very well. I'd recommend it because it's made by Lexar as are many different memory cards. I especially like that the readers slots are protected when you're not using it. The only down side is that it doesn't come with USB 3.0.

Comments about Lexar Multi-Card 24-in-1 USB Reader (Glossy White):
I love this card reader. It feels well built. It has a very solid construction and doesn't feel cheap. I love the pop-up feature. It keeps dust and dirt out of the slots and the release tabs on the side are solid and easy to manipulate. The usb port on the back can be a little difficult to work with but otherwise I have no problems with it. Transfer speeds are great! I have used several card readers that transfer slower than if I just plugged my camera into my laptop. This reader transfers photos much faster than my Canon 40D. I definitely recommend this to others.
