Alesis Q25 - USB/MIDI Keyboard Controller
The Q25 from Alesis is a 25-note, velocity-sensitive, MIDI keyboard controller with USB and traditional MIDI ports that allows for connect to almost all MIDI equipment including software and sound modules. Pitch and modulation wheels, backlit octave up and down buttons, and a volume/data entry slider add expression, range, and dynamics to any performance.
The keyboard is class compliant and simple to use. It connects to either a Mac or PC via a single USB cable, which supplies both power and data connection. No need to install any drivers. The unit includes Ableton Live Lite Alesis Edition software, allowing the user to perform, record, and sequence music right out of the box.
The Q25 is also a good choice for controlling hardware MIDI devices. Its compact size and portability make it ideal for fitting into existing live set ups. It can be used as an addition to another keyboard controller simply to send Program Changes messages to change programs, patches, and more.

Nice unit and fun to use.
We had some issues with one PC. The unit was not recognized. Probably a USB driver issue. Tested on a different PC, no problem; same on a Mac, it worked fine.

This is a nice little keyboard that I used with my Digital Audio Workstation. I just plug it in, and it downloads the driver's automatically. It was up and running within 2 minutes.

Alesis has a winner when it comes to a small easy to use keyboard. Built with professional feel and low on your budget. The keys have a nice feel for synth and piano. The Mod and Pitch Wheels with aftertouch make this stand out from the rest of the the small keyboards.
Built in midi and USB make this a great add-on to any midi gear or recording to your favorite DAW on a laptop. Works great with any IOS Core Midi app on the iPad using the Apple Camera Connection.

Simple, functional, and required no drivers to be installed. I use this because I run Logic Pro on my macbook and needed a portable keyboard. I can't handle mini keys so the full-size keys are great.
