Lensbaby Composer W/Tilt Transformer for Sony NEX Cameras
Want some of that sweet shallow-depth-of-field razzle-dazzle? The Lensbaby Composer W/Tilt Transformer for Sony NEX Cameras offers two ways to inject a shot of magic into your pictures using your Sony NEX camera. The Composer (with Double Glass Optic installed) gives you the classic Lensbaby round "sweet spot" of focus, with access to the Optic Swap system optional accessories (Single Glass Optic, Plastic, Soft Focus, Pinhole/Zone Plate, etc.).
To use the Tilt Transformer, remove the Composer Front Focus and attach any Nikon mount lens: you can fluidly swivel the lens, tilting it up to twice as far as with a standard tilt-shift lens, delivering photos with a slender slice of focus through the image, bordered by a soft blur.
You control the size and the placement of the focus by shifting the lens until you have the effect you're after, using the aperture to control the width of the zone that's in focus.
- When used with a Nikon mount lens, produces a slice of focus through the image
- Tilts up to twice as far as standard tilt-shift lenses making it possible to achieve more extreme blur falling off of a very thin slice of selective focus, as compared to the usual slice of focus width and focus fall-off of a typical tilt-shift lens
- Built-in mechanism allows Nikon G lenses to function properly at all apertures. Nikon G lenses do not have an aperture ring on the lens itself. This mechanism allows the aperture to open and close by manually rotating the lens itself.

Lensbaby is a great brand for the digital and analog filmer/photographer that demands simple and not too expensive creative solutions.I have a Sony NEX digital video cam and since I bought this tilt + composer I discovered new boundaries to be crossed. My image world expanded and still is.And with the creative optical expansion set the sky is not even the limit!A couple of critics about this product.*As its not that expensice, it feels a bit plastic.*The lens dont go on the body that smoothly like the origan E-mount Sony lenses and you need to put the cam on 'filming without lens' to get the best result.*for photograpy the tilt w/ composer is great, for filming its a bit harder to find that right spot, but for me its great as I like to experiment, but I can imagine that for some it will be hard.cheersJeps[@]

I use this with a Sony Nex5 and it really produces some amazing shots. It takes just a couple of minutes to learn to use. Switching out optics takes more time than I would like. I highly recommend the Normal AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D Autofocus Lens by Nikon to go with this as it makes choosing an aperture sooooo much easier. I got the macro kit as well and it takes amazingly sharp pictures. I'm excited to go through all the other optics that are available. The thing is of solid construction and feels like it can stand up to rugged use... well about as much rugged use as a Nex5 can go through.
My only issue would be with the rear lens caps which come off very easily. Still looking for replacement caps that stay on better.
