The Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 8350 Projector is engineered with one purpose: putting high quality images on the screen.
The heart of the system is a 3LCD optical engine which harnesses 2,000 ISO lumens at a crisp contrast ratio of a 50,000:1 backed by a native resolution of 1920 by 1080. The Fujinon 2.1x zoom lens, a brand favored by cinematographers, fulfills the promise of these specs with brilliant screen images up to 1080p.
A high-speed dual-layer auto iris function adjusts light output up to 60 times per second based on the gamma and black / white levels of your projected content, yielding perfectly adjusted images and the deepest blacks. Unlike other projectors, the PowerLite 8350 runs at a whisper quiet 22dB (Eco mode), ensuring that you won't be distracted from the on-screen action while the 4,000 hour lamp life provides further peace of mind and greater enjoyment.
The 8350's five remote-selectable color modes ensure that the projector's output matches your unique viewing environment. Two HDMI v1.3 ports accommodate gaming consoles and DVD or Blu-ray players, while the 10-bit panel provides smooth rendition of colors. An energy-efficient E-TORL lamp completes the picture.

Bought this as a replacement for a 4-year-old 720P Panasonic I paid nearly twice as much for and am amazed at the picture. Sharp, bright, very good contrast for the money. I don't have a dedicated room so there is always some ambient light. This projector is bright enough I barely notice. Lens shift is manual, but much easier to adjust than my previous projector. Powers up quickly, minimal fan noise, excellent color out of the box. An amazing buy at this price point.

I mounted it about 18' feet away from the wall and get a nice 110" picture. It has many brightness settings. But it seems a little dim to me, and I keep it on the brightest all the time. Blu-ray 1080p is very sharp.

Comments about Epson PowerLite 8350 Home Cinema Projector:
I used to be a Sony products fan. And last few years I started looking into other brands mainly because of high price tag on Sony products. And I found that Sony is not the end of the world. This Epson projects produced very clear crispy bright and sharp images and I am very much happy with my decesion to buy this product. One thing I noticed that the overheat warning light is flashing after 2 hours of operations. I am still learning how to use this properly. But so far I am happy with it.

Comments about Epson PowerLite 8350 Home Cinema Projector:
I have several children that love to watch movies daily. This projector replaced a Sony Bravia that had continuous problems with lamps, filters, and noise. This Epson is sooo much quieter, brighter and crisper in detail. We've used this for 2 weeks and LOVE it! Installing this with a ceiling mount was a snap. Much easier than my other projector. Took all of 30 minutes to open box and start watching.

Comments about Epson PowerLite 8350 Home Cinema Projector:
Using in my home theater in a room with ambient light during the day to get an approx. 12ftX7ft screen size. Projector is still bright, clear and has plenty of contrast with a medium gain screen. Easy to setup, mount and dial-in the picture focus, size and position. Using to view PC, Blue-Ray, Cable and Xbox all coming via HDMI through my home theater AVR.

The projector is being used for home theater in the basement. It works very well even with average lighting; in a dark room the picture is incredible through HDMI.

My room has a window at the back, and the only place I can put the projector other than ceiling is the right back corner. It worked with the great horizontal shifting. Calibrated slightly and now have great pictures.
The projector is rather big.

I have been using it for three weeks now and no problems so far. The lense shift feature is really great and allows the placement to be very flexible. I have actually put on a AV rack on a side-wall. Picture quality is really awesome. Only negative I could think is that it is really heavy.

Comments about Epson PowerLite 8350 Home Cinema Projector:
All the good things that I had read about this projector are true. The projector arrived within 5 working days. Quick setup and I followed the recommendations on projectorcentral.com for the minor adjustments. For under $1200, it is probably the best projector that you can get. Picture looks as good as my 60 inch sharp aquos, except my screen is 135". I project onto the wall (beige color) and the picture is just beautiful. I am sure it will look much better once I get a screen. From 19 feet away, you can zoom in to 70 inches if you want, or zoom out to 140 without losing much quality. Also, it is very quiet. It does give off lots of heat.

I am a first time Projector owner, set it up in my basement for home theater room. So far it seems great. Its very large in general, but the picture quality is great. Works great on a wall but definitely get a screen. Its really quiet, produces heat as it should, but overall a great projector.

Comments about Epson PowerLite 8350 Home Cinema Projector:
I watch a lot of movies and I wanted a projector that can play crisp images on my 150" screen. I have 7.1 system and the reason I didn't go with a higher end expensive system is: I didn't need to, most friends wouldn't notice the difference, as techy as I am, I didn't want to blow money on a projector. After reading reviews and seeing the image projected from the 8350 I decided to buy this. So far it's been a great choice! The image is great for gamingon PS3, and even better for BluRay movies. The Cinema mode's colors are almost exactly like the colors of the film in a movie theater (in a dark/blacked out room). If you're looking for a good solid projector to watch blurays without shelling out a lot of $, then this is the projector for you too.

Comments about Epson PowerLite 8350 Home Cinema Projector:
I was hesitant to go with a projection system. I was not sold on the idea as I am a big LCD fan. The contractor building our basement entertainment area showed me his set up in his basement. He had an older, non-HD system, but I was hooked. So, I researched projectors and went with the Epson 8350. Wow! This projector is unbelievable! I love it and cannot get over the clarity, sharpness and brightness of the image. The projector is ceiling mounted about 14 feet away from a white, painted screen. I set it to an 84" diagonal size. It is as if I am in a theater. Even compressed HD from HBO and network cable (usually mpeg-2, highly compressed video) looks amazing. Blu-Ray looks even better. Best purchase I've made, TV-wise.

Comments about Epson PowerLite 8350 Home Cinema Projector:
This projector can be positioned almost anywhere. The lens shift has very wide range of position. I set this projector in a built-in niche at the top of the wall, 16 feet from the 120-inch screen on the opposite wall. No need to mount upside down like the previous one. And the image is stunning. The unit is quite large, but in this install it is recessed in the niche, it's hardly noticed. I love it. I am interested to see how long the lamp will last. It gets watched a lot, and on the brightest setting.

I love this addition to my studio. I am using it to show customers photos and for movie time with my family. I really think it helps with sales when people see their photos on the big screen. Good quality picture, easy to use, blacks not completely black during day screening, but great at night.

I upgraded from and Infocus X1 that was several years old, and what a difference! You still need a dark room with this projector, but with a darkened room it's about as good as watching a Huge plasma screen tv. My projector is mounted on the ceiling. Like most projectors it has an upside down feature that will turn the picture upside down so you can mount this either way. Another nice feature is the "steerable" lens. You can adjust the lens itself up/down, and left/right, so once the projector is set up, you can make minor changes to the picture on the screen in order to center it. It has a Zoom lens and manual focus. This is a great projector and and Very pleased with it. Didn't make a single adjustment to it, factory default settings produce a great picture.

I'm setting up a home theater on a relatively small room 16x10. So far I've only displayed the screen on a white textured wall - It still looked great. Setup is very easy - the only difficult consideration is trying to get the projector even with the screen as it has no keystone adjustments. That said, it works very well anyhow.
