The Joby GorillaPod Video is a flexible-leg table-top tripod intended for mounting small cameras with video capabilities, such as point & shoots that capture video files and shoot & share camcorders. The unique GorillaPod design allows you to bend and twist the legs for a customized camera angle on any sort of surface.
With a micro-ball video head, the tripod enables you to pan 360° and tilt up to 135° in one direction. (There's even a tiny pan bar for smooth operation.) The head's universal 1/4"-20 screw will attach to any small camera or camcorder with a corresponding thread. A quick-release plate is included so that without having to fiddle with the screw, you can easily switch from GorillaPod-mounted shots to unencumbered handheld shooting.
The GorillaPod Video's wrappable legs feature super-strong magnetic feet composed of the element neodymium. This opens up a variety of creative options, from fridge-mounting the video camera to achieving bird's-eye-view shots from high up on a telephone pole.
The tripod and head are constructed of machined aluminum, high-quality ABS plastic, and corrosion-resistant steel. The durable TPE rubber grip rings ensure a high degree of friction when the legs are wrapped around an object – as well as a solid grip for when you're shooting handheld with the camera attached to the GorillaPod Video.

I have had polio since I was a kid. My hands always shaked and I was never able to even try and use a Camcorder. When I bought the one I have now, it came with a stabilizer so I thought my problem was solved. It wasn't. I went to your website looking for tripods. When I wasn't sure which to buy I went to your chat room and asked which one he would recommend. he told me to look up the Gorillapod. I decided to order one and give it a try. It was a great decision. I am now able to use my Panasonic HM-TA1, that I also ordered from you, and take wonderful movies. Thanks, Bill Engelhart

the magnets on the feet are fairly strong, but even though my camera is lighter than what it is rated for, they seem a little inadequate. the adjustment mechanisms are a little stiff and it feels like it is going to break if i adjust the ball. there is no screw to tighten the ball, so they just let the friction do its job. maybe it will loosen a bit with age?

Comments about Joby GorillaPod Video:
The GorillaPod Video by Joby is the coolest tripod that I ever used. As you can see there are infinate positions only limited by your own imagination. The feet have magnets in them which add the convenience of using metal surfaces to latch on to. The magnets are very strong and able to easily hold my Fujifilm FinePix F770EXR at a 90 degree angle with no problem. The magnets are also coated with a hard rubber, so there are no concerns with scratching the surface that you are using to balance your camera. Finally, the arm that you would assume is primarily used for shooting video is also great for adjusting the camera angle for stills.

This product is best suited for setting up close up shots on a table, next to your subject. it is very flexible and bendable, which allows you to move the camera where you want it and to keep it there.

I bought this to use for general recording around the house and anywhere I might need to go. The joints are stiff and solid and it holds fast to anything I wrap it around. The magnetic feet are surprisingly strong and will easily keep my small camcorder in it's place. The tilt and pan and quik release all work fine, but I wish I could adjust the resistance of the tilt and pan. Overall, I'm very pleased with this clever little gadget.

The flexibility and the magnets means you can use this tripod just about anywhere. You can make it work where nothing else will. I've considered mounting it to the open sunroof of my car, but have not had a chance.
I've used it with my Flip Mino HD, and with my iPhone 4. All I had to do with the iPhone is use it with the Glif from Studioneat.
For small cameras and for-fun shooting, I don't see the point of any other tripod.

I use this with my Drift Stealth video camera. It is actually my second GorillaPod product. This tripod has the magnetic feet, which have been a fabulous help with stability. If no metal is available, you can still wrap the legs around practically anything to use as a tripod. The camera lever is helpful, too.

A cute item but an inexpensive mini-tripods will do better.
Attaching camera mechanism is poorly designed. Clip is too small. If lost, tripod is useless.
Cumbersome to straighten out legs
Use to wrap it around some thing is very limited.

Comments about Joby GorillaPod Video:
Annoying to screw in a small piece of plastic, then attach to the tripod.
The movement of the ball is so firm that it takes some time to get the camera positioned where you want it.
More hipe, less useful. Just a common tripod would do fine. Easy to screw in and out. The magnetic feet may come in handy, but how often is one going to need it?

I gave this tripod as a gift. The demonstration video on your website is what made me buy this product for my son. He didn't have one but was very pleased and he in particular liked the fact that the legs were magnetized. Another thing he said he liked was the fact that it is small. I don't think he has had it long enough to find a fault.

I use this with my Canon HF M30 as a grip and mini-pod that sets anywhere out on the trail. Simple, effective and the panning is smooth enough. It should be in everyone's kit.

Gives me the opportunity to hold my small Kodak video camera by the three legs on the GorillaPod and solves the large hand issue I had before this purchase. Great magnets in the feet give great traction on metal surfaces.

I bought this along with the Nikon camera that I bought for my girlfriends 13 year old daughter for her 8th grade graduation. I haven't given it to her yet, but I was playing with it to see how it performed. The magnetic feet are very strong, and the legs are very flexible. I bought this b/c I know that teenage kids like to take pictures of themselves and friends and this will be a great way to do it. It is much more versatile than a regular tripod since it can be wrapped around many different things...trees, fences etc.

The best tripod for your money. You can get so many different angles with this little tripod. The magnetic feet are a plus when getting those Thanksgiving dinner moments. I think my grand-daughter wants one, because she always borrows mine.

This product does everything that it says it does and does it well. Not only can you manipulate it so that it wraps around things like chairs and poles, but its magnetic feet make it even more versatile. It has definitely stabilized my Flip and made the videos that much better. I would definitely recommend this product.

I am a volleyball dad and video every tournament, so I needed something that wouldn't take up as much room as a tripod. The Gorillapod seemed to be the answer, and I was very pleased with the magnetic feet. I can now mount the Gorillapod and camera on a steel pole above head level and get every minute of the game without interference. I highly recommend the Gorillapod for those difficult to position locations.
