Comments about Swari SPD-10B 10" Portable DVD Player:
I don't like that it doesn't save your place, everytime I shut it off or if I leave a movie paused too long the dvd starts from the begining. The picture quality is ok and the sound is ok, I can't really complain for the price.

Comments about Swari SPD-10B 10" Portable DVD Player:
First of all: if you like to read the manual before using the product then look for something else. In the manual the only clearly understandable sentence was: "Please read this User Manual carefully to ensure proper use of this product". It is impossible to do. Impossible to find anything on the web. On a positive side: it played whatever I have thrown into the disk slot: PAL, SECAM, NTSC, Video CD, DVD, CD etc. from both regions 1 and 2 (so, I guess, other regions will play as well). Built in speakers are convenient but the sound is rather lousy. I recommend using earphones (supplied with the unit; unfortunately only one pair can be connected). The unit came with an antenna (there is also an antenna socket on the unit) so, I guess, it has a TV/FM tuner but I was unable to tune to anything - without any mention in the manual it is beyond my hacking capabilities. It is light and small (comparable in size to 10.1" notebooks but much lighter. One can probably play movies pre-recorded on SD, MMC, or MS memory cards but I did not try this and am not particularly interested in such capability. It also has one USB port so, I guess, other external USB memory storage devices can be used as well. It has two Game peorts, one female VGA port, and AV OUT and AV IN mini ports so, probably, it can be connected to a TV - a potentially very useful - I like watching movies sent to my by friends from Europe. The cable with a plug fitting to any of the two ports and having regular two (L & R) audio stereo and one video male plugs is supplied. I did not try to connect it to my TV yet. Image quality is surprisingly good. I did not test how long the battery lasts. It comes with a remote controller (diagrams of two different controllers are found in the manual - one of them is the one supplied with the player). Pther supplied goodies: AC power supply, car cigarette power supply, game controller,
Summarizing: I think that I will be happy with the player although I will probably be unable to use some of its hidden capabilities due to the lack of proper instructions. I intend to use it with my TV to watch movies from Europe (at least until I get a "real" region free DVD player. Good for travels and camping trips. I hesitate to recommend it because it all depends on what one expects from a player. My own expectations are rather simple and limited.
