I needed a large filter case that will strap onto the outside of a large lowepro bag for graduated ND filters as well as some other filters. I had a cokin X-pro case. The cokin case zipped up to seal dust out and was very easy to reach into and grab filters, but the strap to hold it onto the bag was not durable at all and fell apart in less than a season of use. This case looks far, far more durable and has the typical lowepro heavy duty attatchment strap. Unfortunately I find the filter slots are very thin and hard to flip through with cold fingers or gloves on. I even have rather small hands so this would be even harder for most people. The top also just snaps on so there is no protection from dust or snow.

The Lowepro filter pouch has a "binder" of 10 filter sleeves, each of which has a smaller, thin flap of material to protect your fragile resin filters. The binder is held to the bottom of the pouch with velcro. Three of the sleeves have color coded edges to help in finding the desired filter. There is an additional 1.5" of depth in the pouch to hold the filter holders as well. Overall the pouch is sufficiently well padded, both between filters and to the environment. I carry several 4x6", 4x4" and P size filters in addition to two filter holders. It all fits quite easily. Since the pouch is carried in my camera bag I have no need for the robust belt strap, which adds unnecessary bulk to the pouch. That is my main complaint, the pouch is deeper and a bit wider than it needs to be and does not have a mechanism to minimize its bulk. Also the top cover is a bit oversize and fiddly and the snap holding the cover closed is really difficult to use. However the filter pouch does its primary mission well, to organize and protect the filters and holders.

Comments about Lowepro S&F Filter Pouch 100:
You can buy this filter pouch, or spend almost twice as much for the 10 filter Lee pouch that is only in stock occasionally. This one is big enought to put the Lee Foundation Kit holder and at least one adapter in as well. In the next iteration of this bag, I can bet that Lowepro will redesign the lid and snap arrangement. In the meantime, with few choices for filter pouches, I decided that this was the best of the bunch. Don't get me wrong, the lid shouldn't be a deal breaker, just something that could be improved.

I bought this to store my hitech filter system. It has a removable section to protect resin filters and space left over for the filter holder.

Compact, light-weight design that safely hold 10 pieces of 4x6 gel filters and a little bit more room to fit a CPL or a holder.
Wish it had a zipper lid.

Comments about Lowepro S&F Filter Pouch 100:
I purchased this pouch to store my 4x6 landscape filters and I use it with my ThinkTank skin speedbelt & harness.
The first impression you'll get upon receiving this item is its size. It's quite big so do consider the dimensions first before purchasing.
The rear part of the pouch is fairly rigid, and it opens up from the rear to the front, much like the Thintank holsters, so that makes this pouch easy to use in the filed as the cover doesn't get in the way.
The inner divider is a nice touch as well, there are color stitching's but not on every divider. Though it's adequate to separate say your hard edge from your soft edge and your big stoppers or polarizer, I still found myself individually color coding each side of the dividers so I know which ones my 0.6 or my 0.9.
It would have been better to have the pouch in a horizontal configuration(landscape orientation in photo speak) so it would be easier to access teh filter and a separate compartment to hold the filter holder and adapter ring.

Comments about Lowepro S&F Filter Pouch 100:
It's pretty much obvious how a bag like this is to be made, and for the most part Lowepro got it right, but a simple thing like the lid to close this thing up is absolutely atrocious, along with the snap to keep it shut. To put this bag out for sale with these flaws is an insult. I will use this bag for the lack of finding something better, and consider ways to improve on this amateur attempt by Lowepro. I was taken aback as Lowepro generally put out a very good product.

Comments about Lowepro S&F Filter Pouch 100:
Overall it is a great idea with poor execution
Positive features: the included filter holder does a great job in holding the square and rectangular filters safe and scratch free. It is secured via Velcro to the bottom of the filter holder. The outside case provides good protection.
Negatives: could have made this case bigger to hold the actual filter holders and rings in one place. No zipper on top so rain can get in if not closed perfectly. Does not have the weather jacket in either so sand can also get in the case in a desert location an scratch the precious filters.
For the price I expected a better design from Lowepro. I am actually using the filter holder from this case combined with my older Lowepro Utility (discontinued) case so I can have all my filters, holders, adapters, and panorama rail in once place for fast and easy access. I wish they just sold the holders separately for less money.

Comments about Lowepro S&F Filter Pouch 100:
I read in a prior review that the person had some difficulty with the pockets for the filters being too tight. I do not have that problem...The Lee 4x6 filters fit easily into the slots in the filter "wallet" that attaches to the inside bottom of the pouch by means of a velcro strip.
Several of the slots have been designed to hold 4x6 filters, others slots are a bit shorter making it easier to grab 4x4 filters like the Lee Big Stopper.
In addition to storing about ten filters, there is room in the pouch for the Lee filter holder and well as one and maybe two different adapter rings.
Like most LowePro products, this one contains a sliplock attachment point so that the pouch can be worn on a backpack belt if so desired.
If I had one wish, it would be that the cover overlapped the opening a bit more than it does to ensure that sand and dust do not make their way inside the pouch.
Overall, this product does exactly what it is intended to do.

Comments about Lowepro S&F Filter Pouch 100:
There were some previous complaints about the lid and the extra belt strap but this thing is great. What those individuals may not understand is this thing is designed as part of a belt system and grow as you need it to. I have had it for a couple of weeks now and it works great. I have messed up and not snapped the lid; hiked a few leagues only to find out nothing had fell out. The innards that hold the filters are made of the same material you see in CD holders for your car but they work well at holding the filters in and not allowing them to slide out easily. As for the belt loop, I use it; I use a sling bag most of the time as i hike around to keep my load light and that belt loop works great because there is no room in most cameras bags if you fill this with filters and an extra holder like I have. The inner filter holder comes out and allows you to flip through your filters like a file cabinet then stud right in the bag again without looking. it has Velcro on the bottom and that explains why my filters have not fallen out when I forget to snap the lid closed.
Overall, If I needed a new one for whatever reason, I would purchase this one without looking at anything else because it works. My other Photographer friends like the bag as well and are considering purchasing this filter pouch along with the Cokin P Series filter sets I purchased.

Comments about Lowepro S&F Filter Pouch 100:
Overall, i like the product and as mentioned before the top flap is a little flimsy and awkward but this thing is designed to expand and expand it does! Some people have commented the belt mount as a waste but this is design to work with a belt system and be able to move anywhere you want it. I use a sling bag most of the time and this works great for hanging off my bag which has no room for the filter pouch after filling it. Compared to what i have seen from other companies i am glad i did the additional research and purchased this pouch. I gave it a 4 because i do agree that LowePro could have come up with a better solution for the lid. One note; the filter holder material is just like that found in a CD holder. Note the highest quality materiel for protecting the filter but they do work.

For those who use 4x6 filters, you know it's hard to find appropriate cases. Usually, they're too simple, not very well designed, and expensive. The S&F Filter Pouch 100 by Lowepro is not that type of case. It's made with high quality materials, has many interesting features (like detachable filters compartment with different colours), and has enough room for 10 filters and a holder. I use it to carry Lee and Singh Ray filters.
