The D420 delivers professional-quality documents at resolutions up to 600 dpi. It boasts output speeds up to 23 pages-per minute with a first copy out time of a mere 9 seconds! Media handling with the D420 could not be easier. It has a main 250-sheet input tray for variety of media up to 8.5 x 11"/letter size, plus a single-sheet multi-purpose tray for feeding heavier media such as envelopes and index cards.
The D420 supports money-saving, two-sided duplex copying and printing for expanded creative possibilities such as double-sided flyers and sell sheets and reducing paper consumption. It can produce up to 99 copies at a time, has a toner saver mode and a 2 on 1 function is handy for saving paper by printing two images on one sheet. Plus, you can reduce and enlarge, collate or make draft copies from the easy to use control panel.
The D420 incorporates the Canon Single Cartridge System, which combines the toner and drum in one easy-to-replace unit, resulting in excellent image quality consistency and eliminating the hassle of storing and replacing separate toner and drum units. This laser printer is 15.4"/391mm wide, 17"/432mm deep and 12"/305mm high, making it a desktop solution tailored for streamlining home and small office operations.

- On-Demand SURF Technology - On-Demand (Surface Rapid Fixing) technology uses a linear ceramic heater that heats instantly for fast warm up speeds and quick first prints. The result is up to a 75% reduction in energy consumption compared to conventional roller-fixing systems.
- Toner Saving Mode - When the imageCLASS D420 is switched into the toner saving mode, it allows for up to a 20% more economical toner usage.
- AIRSHELL Cartridge Packaging - AIRSHELL is packaging material for Canon's imageCLASS toner cartridges that utilizes air cushioning. It reduces product package sizes, helps to improve shipping efficiency and reducing CO2 emissions generated during transport by approximately 23% to 49%.
- Toner Cartridge Recycling Program - Canon was the first in the printing industry to create a toner cartridge recycling program. Canon toner cartridges are 100% recovered with zero landfill waste.
- Hardware Recycling Program - Canon is committed to the world community and the belief that they are building a better world for future generations. I had problem with the IMac seing the printer.
Apple and Canon blamed each other....
The problem was that Apple did not know what the choice was among the list in the of printer available,so I try on my own and got lucky..Maybe Canon and Apple could be
more in touch..
