I have been using two Canon GL-1 cams for 11 years. I moved up to the XF 300 and easily would have been lost without the Vortex DVD workshop. He is easy to listen to and describes the features very clearly. I especially like that he tells you the honest good and unfortunate aspects of the camera. I am using the camera confidently now and have not yet even cracked open the manual. He also recommends settings on the camera to get you going. It is worth whatever you pay for it!

You will learn more about the camera than the manual explains. The intro chapter opened some new aspects. The cost is a little high but you would not buy used tires for your new car. The cost of the DVD goes with the value of the camera.

This is a great DVD to drive you trough the main controls of the camera. It informs you very well of details that are critical to the proper use of the cameras settings, advantages and it prevent you from unknowingly shoot under wrong settings.
It does not teach nothing but the camera. I'm thankful to Doug Jensen for producing this videos.
There are very few things that I wish were there, but on the other hand I watched the video only once.
As in other of my reviews I'll be happy to write again once I go back to the material and study it again in more detail.
One thing for sure I would have love to hear from such an experience man like Doug Jensen:some comparisons between cameras of the "same rank" from Sony and Panasonic, for example.
And, one more thing, the video gives the impression that he shoots with this camera in regular basis...does he?....any way, I'm happy with this purchase.
