Comments about Chrosziel Matte Box 456-30 Academy (3 Filter Holders):
This unit does work well to control stray light and the three filter holders are nice, but this design is prone to problems. First, the carbon fiber shell is no where near as strong as the older plastic shells. Our's cracked while being transported in a Porta Brace case. We were able to Guerrilla Glue it back together. Second, this is a modular design. Which means there are many screws that come loose all the time and the matte box wiggles around. You have to take the mounting bracket off the box to get to some of the screws. After 4 months of light use most all the screws were loose in our box. And the flag bracket sticks out unnecessarily far and causes problems when fitting a camera with the matte box in a camera case, even if the case is designed for use with cameras and matte boxes. I can't recommend a box that's better than this. These were just a few of the issues I've had with it. We own two older Chrosziel matte boxes and they're better.
