BlackRapid RS-Sport Extreme Sport Strap (Black)
The black RS-Sport Extreme Sport Strap from BlackRapid is designed to hold and keep an SLR camera and lens steady in strenuous shooting situations. Slide the camera up the strap to grab that perfect shot. The strap has an under arm safety tether that keeps the camera secure. It includes a CR-2 connector-2 (1/4"-20 fastener), FR-3 fastener-3 and a BRAD MOD that secures the camera to the strap.

After searching and searching, I finally found a camera strap that suits my every need and that is the RS-Sport just released by BlackRapid. I never liked using the OEM straps that actually came with my DSLRs. First of all they are too flashy because it tells the whole world what kind of camera you are shooting. This is just an invitation for some thief to jack your expensive camera. Secondly these OEM straps hang around your neck like a tourist, rubs up the back of your neck, very uncomfortable, and seems to always make your camera find its way to your child's forehead when you bend over to pick them up.I originally purchased the RS-5 which i didn't like for a number of reasons. The storage pouch for your spare CF/SD cards, spare battery, business cards, etc. Was just too bulky and had a way of rubbing up the side of my neck. I did not really feel the need for storing all those things and having them on my person at all times. It just added to the weight and I found it to be too cumbersome. Also being that the RS-5's strap was straight and not contoured to your neck, it would occasionally slide from front to back and would not stay positioned properly. BlackRapid does sell an accessory, the "Brad" that attaches to the RS-5 which is an additional strap that loops under your armpit to keep the RS-5 from sliding front to back while you are on the move. Great accessory but will set you back another $20. I [...]settled with the RS-Sport which was just released by BlackRapid.The RS-Sport is Much more comfortable as it is contours to your neck and doesn't have that bulky pouch which I really didn't see a need for. It also includes the "Brad" strap which is built in to the RS-Sport. There are two clips, one to the rear and one to the front of your camera, that you can adjust to keep the camera secured to your hip or to your back, and keeps the camera from sliding around while you are on the move. To set up the strap to shoot, your merely have to slide the front clip up the strap, which now allows you to slide the camera up to your eye to capture the shot. I can't say enough about tuis strap. It will really come in handy on those long days at Disneyland with the kids. At [$], it is pretty pricey for a strap but well worth the investment for the ease it brings to carrying you camera around. Highly recommended.

If you are shooting in the field with a bad back, you know what it's like carrying a big lense around. This takes the pressure off of neck and back and puts it on the shoulders. With locks (2) on the rig doesn't swing. and with lock (1) off the camera goes from waist to eye without a hitch.

I was on the fence about this, because it seemed really expensive for a camera strap. However, I have had no regrets. The comfort and fit are excellent, and it makes it so much easier to keep my camera at the ready. I have not tried the standard BlackRapid strap, but the Sport looked like it would be more comfortable and durable.

I take lots of sports photos for grandchildren's teams, and some yearbook pictures. Hate the original neck strap. I would always carry my camera. The sore elbow, and hand cramps at the end of the evening were painful. The RS-Sport Extreme has been awesome! NO more sore neck, elbow, and hand. The strap is secure, and convient. It will never come off the camera! LOVE IT!

I wore the Black Rapid RS Sport Strap this past Saturday at a local air show. Walked around for hours with my Nikon and 70 - 200 mm VR lens.
The strap is very comfortable with a wide pad to distribute the weight of camera and lens. I had no neck or shoulder issues at all. The camera is quickly accessable when needed.
The strap does take a bit of effort to adjust and put on but is well worth it.
Another plus is the way the strap and under arm strap attach makes the camera difficult for someone to snatch,grab and run off with ones expensive camera - lens combination.

Never get neck pain ever again wearing a classic strap around your neck--get a rapid strap. Its totally worth the money because it gives you access to your camera when you need it and is out of the way when you don't need it. The rapidstrap is just a great product.

This strap is simple to use and very comfortable to wear all day long. I do not like the neck strap at all. When I first bought my camera I reconfigured my neck strap to just hang off my shoulder, however the camera could easily fall if you are not careful. the black rapid is awesome you can make the camera ride on your hip any way you want. My first outing with it I walked the Phoenix Zoo with it for 3 hours. It is very comfortable to wear and shooting photos in any position is easy. Buy this strap you will be glad you did!

This strap takes the weight of the camera off your neck and evenly distribute's it over your shoulder area. The strap under your arm holds the strap in place so that the shoulder pad does not slide down your back when you bring your camera up to your face. When your camera is not in use the strap allows the camera to rest at your side out of the way. The strap is adjustable so that you can have the camera placement at the point when you drop your hand to retreive it, it like having a hoster on your side. Comfortable and easy to use. This is not an accessory its a necessity for long periods of photographing.

I recently bought a 500 zoom lens for my Nikon D90 that added about 3 pounds of weight. I like to carry my camera when I hike on the local wildlife trails, but wearing a neck strap with that much weight wasn't an option. I did a lot of research before ordering this strap and was hoping it would help distribute the weight of the camera. Great purchase and worth every penny!
What I like best:
It distributes the weight of the camera evenly acros my shoulder
It is fully adjustable so easy to use over a heavy winter coat, or a t-shirt
Keeps the camera snug against my hip, rather than flapping around
Easy to grab the camera and take quick shots without any fumbling or adjusting
The only minor negative is that it was a little confusing to figure out how to wear it intitally and the instructions aren't that helpful. Once I figured it out, it was a breeze.
I would recommend this to anyone who is carrying around a heavy camera - it's a neck saver!

I've owned lots of straps for SLR cameras, but this one, although expensive, is the best one so far. But the best is seldom cheap is it? Strap holds a heavy SLR securely and does not give me a sore neck. Additionally, if you are attaching a heavy telephoto lens to the camera, it's nice to be able to attach the strap to the lens where it balances much better. A winner!

Got this because I shoot a lot of sports photography and have the occassional break between games. The regular next strap doesn't give the feeling of security that the BlackRapid strap does when just hanging off my shoulder. Plus, it's significantly more comfortable, especially when I'm using my 70-200 2.8 lens. The under arm safety tether keeps the main strap from rising up and hitting me in the face. When I'm not shooting, I let the camera hang down at my side. When it's time to shoot, simply bring the camera up and start shooting. I love it! The only negative I have it the price. Highly recommend!

At first I was a bit scared with this product having thousands of dollars of gear just dangling at my hip but the design keeps it close to my body and it is quality made. My fears were put to rest and it holds my secondary D90 on my hip while I shoot with my primary.
