The most powerful LED light in its class, the Bescor LED-60X 60W All-in-One LED Light uses twin, 3W LED bulbs to produce the equivalent of 60W of halogen illumination. Requiring only 1.5 amps of power, this lightweight, on-camera unit can last for over 3 hours on 4 AA batteries--or indefinitely via an optional 6V AC adapter. And since it's LED, the unit never gets hot to the touch.
Included with the light are two filters that slide easily into the housing--one for diffusion, the other an amber 4500°K color correction filter for matching indoor light sources. A completely adjustable dimmer switch lets you set the light's intensity as needed, while a swiveling shoe mount lets you bounce or direct lighting into the area it's most needed.

This "High End Consumer / Low End Pro-Sumer" Light runs on AA batteries, has adjustable brightness, and slot for filters. (includes clear and amber) The filters are supposed to diffuse the light, they do that function poorly... might make my own filter out of mylar or similar translucent white plastic... but light is difused well on it's own, even without filters so not really needed.
Because this is not a spot light, but a diffused illumination tool, the effective range is limited. Don't expect more than 10-15' as a fill light under normal illumination.
Adjustable LED brightness is nice using a dial, but you have to fiddle with it to get it just right. Switch and dial are kind of cheesey, but work well enough.
The method employed to adjust the brightness, causes the light to create a high pitched whine that changes pitch depending on the brightness of the lights. The sound is simlar to a flash recharging. Havn't noticed the sound on video recordings, but might be a problem for some.
Battery life seems good, batteries are self-contained in the light, and LED lights make almost no heat. A very very nice change from Halagon lighting.
Small, but very bright. Painful to look at on the highest brightness settings. Also has a vertical swivel adjustment, which is nice.
Housing is lightweight plastic. Might not survive a good drop. Don't expect a pro-grade light... but for what it's designed to do, at the price, it does it's job well.
It's worth the money, but again, don't expect super-high end stuff here. It's a bright, plastic, LED based light.

The light is great, nice and bright with a dimmer. As I turned the light on to do a first test run, I could hear a very high pitch sound coming from the light. It varies in pitch as you play with the dimmer. I tested the light with my Audio-Technica shotgun mic, And the sound was very noticeable when in a silent environment, unusably so for any professional use. After speaking into the mic, as if doing an interview, the hum was still there, but the footage would be usable if needed.
Im disappointed that this great light can't sit in my camera's hot shoe where it belongs. The hum is too great for my professional use. No one else has mentioned this issue, maybe its just my light. I will have to contact the manufacture and see what they can do.

I bought this product to compliment my T3i kit I'm building.
I would consider this light to be more of the "spotlight" variety than diffused. It illuminates quite well for it's size. You will notice fall-off after 10 feet.
One noticeable issue I ran into when recording was the frequency of the light at the medium dimming setting. At that setting, I noticed horizontal frequency bars being recorded no matter what fps or aperture I had. At the lowest setting and highest setting, I did not notice any frequency issues.
Finally, be prepared to purchase another 3200K screen for the light. It is not well balanced for tungsten lighting.
Overall, good product for the price. I wouldn't recommend this for extreme videographers.

This little guy greatly improves video when in low light situations. Found some light banding interference when turned down low... but can be fixed with shutter speed or just turning it up more. When shooting video with dslr it's vital to have a low iso, and having this in your bag can help greatly using it with product shots, close up shots, or as fill light.... One thing that made me choose this over other higher wattage led's is that its very small and holds a very long charge.

A very good source of light for the price, really love to be able to dim the light as I need to.Beware the noise "at full power" if you place it beside your mic on a video cam. I had to return the first one I ordered because of a problem with a spring in the battery compartment. But after all,it is a really good buy.

This is the best portable LED light. It's bright enough, small, light, ability to tilt up/down, and operated with AA batteries, so I don't need to carry around a battery pack.
Love it!

I use this mainly for night time shoots with my Canon HDSLR for music videos. This single light is good for close Medium CU and CU shots of single subjects. For wider shots and some fill light, I used two of these. What's great was that batteries were included. Ready to use out-of-box. And the dim switch goes from almost dark to full brightness, very nice. Did notice the high pitch sound when turned to full brightness. The sound dims down with brightness. Not a big deal if shooting music videos that don't require sound.

Let's face it, camera mounted lights never make for the most beautiful picture. They're sort of a necessary evil. That said, this thing is great. It is almost too bright. Thankfully it has a dimming feature. The "diffusion" plate that comes with the light doesn't diffuse a whole lot, but when I pair it with a mini softbox (by Impact) it fits/works/diffuses perfectly. It is even very easy to apply different gels if need be. Sometimes I will mount it on my mini gorilla pod and place it wherever, as a nice solution to the inherent nastiness of a "camera mounted" light. I wish I could comment on the battery life, but I havn't used it enough to drain the first set yet. If you want to use AC power you will need to buys a separate adapter, but it is nice that this light features a proper jack at least. For the money it is hard to imagine a better product.

i used it in a sony hdrax2000 with external mic, the high pitch noise increase with the light output so the mic records that too, I tried very close to my ear at the stores but could not hear anything, but at home was very noticeable
the light output is very powerful for only two less, I think you could use it with a consumer camcorder

I wanted an intensity adjustable, light weight, low cost, on camera light, with it's own battery power source and is aimable. This was exactly what I was looking for, and I love the fact that the diffuser slot is the same size as the ROSCO gel sample size. It's a bit on the flimsy side, but just a bit, and for the cost it's fantastic.
It works exactly as advertised along with the adapter that BH recommends, and it is small enough to fold up with the adapter on and store in my camera case.
Recommended for an on camera light that you don't worry about because of the low cost, that actually works and has all the features I listed. It's effective throw goes to about 10-15 feet.

Comments about Bescor LED-60X 60W All-in-One LED Light:
Chose this item over others in the BH catalog because of reviews and price. It is flimsy - I am concerned about long term viability of the mount, but it works extremely well for video lighting within 10 - 15 feet tops. Also using for focus assistance.
Regarding noise at full brightness - there is a high pitch whine from the internal inverter when the brightness is cranked up. Read a review about the "noise" - its barely noticeable. I suppose if you were filming a quiet scene, you might notice this, but turning the light down just a little - 85 - 90%, and it is below detection.

I'm a wedding videographer. I like the compact and feel of this light, its dimmer is a plus and very bright at full. Its professional looking. A set of AA batteries last up to five hours. No more waiting to re-charge battery like my last lamp required. The price is good for this light also.

if filming from 6-15 feet is your goal, it is probably a good light source for the price. The beam is quite narrow, making closer distances more difficult to provide with even lighting.

I've been a professional videographer for 12 years. Do not buy this product, it's not worth the risk.
THIS LIGHT CAUSED SERIOUS VIDEO INTERFERENCE ANY TIME IT WAS ON!
The light caused rolling bands across the video. Unacceptable for video use.

It's a handy light, just not very bright. I use it as a secondary constant light, or to soften shadows created by main flash units. By itself, in less than ideal lighting, you're stil at high ISO and low apertures to get enough light. I wouldn't plan on using it as your main source of light though.
