The Chrosziel DV Balancer with Belly Rest allows hands-free vertical and horizontal adjustment (parallel to the eye) of camcorders up to 8.81 lb (4kg) with built-in viewfinders. The shoulder pad and the chest rest absorb the weight of the camera and thereby allow efficient control. It is compatible with all Chrosziel lightweight supports of the 401-4xx series, and can be attached to additional 1/4” fastening screw and rubber cushion. Equipped with a memory clip, the unit allows you to store the individual adjustments, and offers quick reinstallation even after unpacking. You can easily detach the chest rest and shoulder unit, and carry the unit to different shooting locations.

Comments about Chrosziel DV Balancer with Belly Rest:

It actually works!! It's very well made and hardly weights anything at all. A very good product. The shots are a lot more steady and smoother than on a regular hand held. The bottom counter balance pad is easily removable. Works great with the base plate system from Chrosziel, which I recommend getting. Makes it a super light weight system. Perfect for interview or TV work. You can really let go of both hands and the camera will stay balanced. I find that very useful when you have to make adjustments/setting and dont want to take down the camera off your shoulder.

Overall weight limit is really 8 pounds max because the knob connecting the shoulder rest to the mount is only a screw down on a rod. With the weight of an EX1 it will slowly drag down. You will have to to readjust after a while. Also the bottom pad wears out easily. I taped it out to protect from wearing out the foam protection.

It's a nice addition to the gear. Slides on perfect and fast to the Chrosziel Baseplate or Grip Mount.
