The Tamrac TR404 ZipShot Mini Tripod sets up in seconds so you can capture those fleeting moments that require stability – the once-in-a-lifetime shot of the fast-setting sun, the rare animal skulking about the edge of the forest, or the suddenly harmonious family. The design of its aluminum legs will be familiar to any camper: release the two red shock cords, and the leg sections unfurl and quickly snap together like modern tent poles.
The ZipShot Mini is a smaller version of the original TR406 ZipShot tripod. The height of the ZipShot Mini is 28", and it folds down to just 9" for easy transport. In fact, you can use the shock cords to attach the 9 oz tripod to your backpack, camera bag or luggage.
Like its bigger sibling, the Mini features an integrated metal ball head that tilts 180° (for portrait or landscape orientation) and pans a full 360°. A single release lever enables you to position your DSLR, compact digital camera, small camcorder, or flash at any angle. (The TR404 ZipShot Mini supports loads up to 3 lb.) The tripod's standard 1/4"-20 screw fits almost any camera or camcorder.

Comments about Tamrac TR404 ZipShot Mini Tripod:
While compact and very light, it does not offer reasonable stability. I carried this around all week at Disney. I hardly noticed it in my bag. When I went to us it for the night shots I kept getting frustrated with it. The legs had a mind of their own. I would spread out 2 legs and the third would not cooperate. This is a fantastic idea, I just wish there was a way to get the legs to spread out evenly. I was using a Nikon D90 with a kit lens, I was not comfortable with letting the camera go. Long exposure shots did not happen. :(
