Olympus BLM-5 and BCM-5 Charger Kit (100-240V AC)
This is the Olympus BLM-5 and BCM-5 Charger Kit. The Olympus BLM-5 Lithium-Ion Rechargeable Battery is small and lightweight. Lithium-Ion batteries can be charged or discharged at any time without developing memory effects. It must be noted that this battery can only be charged in the Lithium-Ion Battery Charger (BCM-5). If you do not own this charger, it is suggested that you purchase the Battery Charger Kit that contains both the BCM-5 Charger and BLM-5 Battery.
The Olympus BCM-5 Battery Charger is the dedicated Lithium-Ion battery charger for the BLM-5 battery. It recharges the BLM-5 battery in approx. two and a half hours (at room temperature) and it is included with the Olympus E-5 digital SLR. The BCM-5 is compatible with the international power supply of 100-240V AC.
Note! The BCM-5 battery replaces the BLM-01 battery. However, it cannot be charged in the Li-Ion Battery Charger BCM-01
- The BLM-5 is only compatible with the BCM-5
- The BCM-5 can recharge a BLM-5 in about 210 minutes (at room temperature)

I bought this product to replace the BLM-1's that have been slipping in photo counts on my E-3. Not much of an improvement. I fully charged them for a photo shoot at a horse show this past weekend. I am not happy at all with the results. This first pair of batteries net count was 87 raw shots...for 2 of them in my HLD-4. Ok...let's charge again. 142. Getting better but now where near the stated count by Olympus. IS was off. Screen was off after getting the settings correct. This just about makes me wanted to switch my whole set up to another brand. I waited for these to come out with the hope it would finally be a solution to the problem...I guess not.

Charges quickly, like the grey color and blinks when the battery is not properly plugged in. It does get warm but not excessively so. Quality product - bought it as a backup for my Olympus E-5 charger. Best wishes.

The BCM-5 is not any faster (takes about 2.5 hrs to charge ) than the BCM-1/2...however the BLM-5 battery charge last about 2x longer than the BLM-1 battery with full charge.
